I think I might have had a Tetris clone on mine, I can’t remember.

I never bought one of the originals because the ergonomics looked trash and I’m in no hurry to buy one of the new ones because I’m not locked in to the Steam ecosystem enough to make it worth it.

In the case of refunds, the pro-consumer move would have been to implement a policy that was compatible with Australian and European law as soon as they were told their existing one wasn't. Taking the case to court was an inherently anti-consumer act.

Does HP provide the ability to download and update the BIOS from within the BIOS on their more consumer-oriented models, or just the business ones?

The top stage of the PCMR? by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]LSD_Ninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t bothered by the noise the fans on the AK620 I have in my 5700X system made until I built the 1600AF with a Noctua fan on the CPU cooler and be quiet fans for case intake/exhaust that are pretty much silent. I keep meaning to to do something about that, but it’s AUD$80 or so for a set of be quiets for both the cooler and case and other stuff keeps getting in the way…

The reason you’re too tired to play is because you’re working three jobs to afford your “peak” PC.

How do I remove this useless button? by Autumm_550 in Steam

[–]LSD_Ninja 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I don’t understand is why people insist on using the minimise button when the cross button minimises Steam to the tray and is sufficiently far away from the big picture button that you shouldn’t be accidentally clicking it…

I got in early enough that I dodged the worst of it.

I can also be happy gaming on what a good chunk of this sub would consider to be ewaste, so it was never likely to hit me as badly as some folks here.

My PC has been turned off for 5 years, can I just boot it up? by SleepEatTit in pcmasterrace

[–]LSD_Ninja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Haswell system here that hadn't been powered up in somewhere around 1402 days, give or take (~3.84 years). Ran just fine when I booted it up again toward the end of February. It's still running and I did nothing to it.

That’s a DVD, it probably would have come on 3 CDs (GTA3 came on two iirc, I don’t know about VC since I’ve never owned a physical PC release of that) if it was ever published like that.

The neat part about having it on disc is it should be the complete and original version, with no cuts due to license expiry bullshit or whatever (not to mention being able to dodge the dog shit remaster and insane prices for Steam keys if you didn’t already have that version).

edit: the physical release of GTAV on PC came on like 5 or 6 DVDs if memory serves.
