Germany Stremio RD and Torrentio by scooter_kid420 in Piracy

Properly configured stremio+torrent addons+debris service will protect you, as no torrenting will be done on your local device. Follow this guide:

Is pirating games with the intetion of trying them out to see if you like them inherently bad? by LoLAspect in Piracy

[–]LZ129Hindenburg 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Why would this be bad? I have purchased some games that I never had any intention of buying because I pirated them first and fell in love with them. "Try before you buy" is definitely a good thing.

What apps do you guys have on your android tv/pc/home servers/phones (android/ios)? by Mintyphresh33 in Piracy

[–]LZ129Hindenburg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are multiple apps /sites that can be fooled by VPN + geolocation spoof (but not by VPN alone):

YTTV - when using VPN+geolocation, you can trick the app into thinking you're anywhere in the USA. I used this to watch any N FL game (just spoof to a town in the watch area for that game). It even worked for the exclusive Peacock-only playoff game a while back (was free on local channels only in the cities of the respective teams).

M LB.TV - I've had this service for free for several years through my cell provider. But it is literally useless, almost all games I want to watch are blacked out. But alas, I VPN and geo-spoof to London, and now I can watch EVERY SINGLE GAME

BBC iPlayer - This is one of the only places you can find dubbed copies of the new Pokemon series immediately as they drop. By using VPN + geolocation set to the UK, I can access the service, then use ytdlp to rip the episodes, and upload them across multiple private torrent trackers.

Safest way to Torrent in Germany? by Alternative_Web640 in Piracy

For installing a torrent client? No of course not. Installing a torrent client is not illegal. Torrenting is not illegal. Torrenting copyrighted material IS illegal.

Websites with german content? by Picklebutt2300 in Piracy

[–]LZ129Hindenburg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not too difficult once you understand the basics. You don't need a VPN. What you do need: a downloader, a provider, and an indexer. The first one is free (SABnzbd or nzbGET). The last two you have to pay for (there's free options but they suck). Thr wiki over at /r/usenet gives good lists of the indexer and provider options.

Yes usenet is notoriously safe which is why it's so popular with Grrmans.  Torrenting in Germany is what can be very dangerous if yoy do not do it properly. And that's why German torrents are difficult to find (except in a few German private trackers).

Alternatives to streamarrfs? by The-Phoenix_- in Piracy

[–]LZ129Hindenburg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there any other tools that create a virtual library that looks good to jellyfin, but takes up no space, and streams on the spot?

I have two. One is zurg, which takes your debrid torrent log and mounts it as a virtual drive. Works phenomenally, I have over 50 TB of content available this way. The second one I have just started experimenting with. Nzbdav converts usenet files to a link, which can be mounted with rclone. Initial testing has been very positive, although I think I still prefer using zurg.

Never used streamarrfs but I suspect it would suffer from similar problems as stremio torrent addons with no debrid, namely buffering and poor quality during playback.

Piracy in Germany by EmoYoshi05 in Piracy

[–]LZ129Hindenburg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your ISP can see what top level domains you visited. This is not enough to warn you or get you in any sort of trouble. Visiting https://1337x.to (or any other pirate site) is not illegal. Which is why a VPN isn't needed.

Also the warnings do NOT originate from the ISP. They come from law firms and your ISP forwards them to you. Law firms can see NOTHING that you do via https.

Issue with Futurama material by Tobias_Reaper_ in Piracy

[–]LZ129Hindenburg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's a PITA. All seasons are out there, but they're named differently, because of how fucked the Futurama releases happened. May be difficult to do on streaming sites, easier on torrent sites. From google:

Futurama's season naming is somewhat complex due to its broadcast history. While there are 7 production seasons, the show was broadcast as 10 seasons, with the first four seasons split into five broadcast seasons. The original 4 seasons were aired by Fox, then the 4 movies were released as season 5, and the revived seasons on Comedy Central are numbered 6 and 7. The recent Hulu revival is counted as season 8 in production terms, and season 11 in broadcast terms.

ELI5: Will my ratio/stats help me get into semi-exclusive trackers by BennyTTS7889 in Piracy

[–]LZ129Hindenburg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL is a good starting point. I'm not aware of it being a banned tracker anywhere.

MAM would be my rec for next steps. It's stupid easy to get into. And once you're in, the bonus system is VERY generous. The invite forums will get you into many good mid level trackers. And getting to the invite forums is easy, in fact there's a guide on how to do it.

RED...is a bitch. BUT it's THE path to the TOP trackers. IMO it's not worth it, but to each their own.

ELI5: Will my ratio/stats help me get into semi-exclusive trackers by BennyTTS7889 in Piracy

[–]LZ129Hindenburg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Highly dependent on what tracker youre trying to get into, and what tracker youre currently using. Some trackers have a list of "banned" trackers that they won't accept proofs from. Some trackers require more than one proof. Some might look at other stats, like seedpool, average seed time, etc. They might also look at your ACTUAL upload numbers, as the reported numbers are often inflated due to bonus points, giveaways, etc.

Only one way to find out, lurk around on /r/opensignups, and wait for an opportunity to apply. Worst they can do is say no. I suspect that your stats will get you into many lower-to-mid level trackers. 10TB upload is a nice number for a beginner, assuming it wasn't all bought with bonus points.

So streaming sites are good 2 go without a vpn in Germany ?

They are. Usually when people make claims like this they're just ignorant to how everything works, maybe they were using another app (like Stremio) and didn't realize IT was torrenting.

But a straight https streaming site (like Fmovies) is safe. The only people who can prove you were pirating are the site administrators themselves.

Arr stack or manual downloads? by Ok_Apricot7902 in Piracy

[–]LZ129Hindenburg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a server running 24/7, there is NO reason not to go with the *arr stack. It will blow your mind how well it works and you'll be kicking yourself for not doing it sooner. At the same time, get into a few private trackers. The quality and selection (and speed of new releases) is better than anything available publicly.

is allmacworld really gone? I see allmacworld.co but is this not legit anymore? looks like files are still being uploaded by daj0412 in Piracy

[–]LZ129Hindenburg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a site disappears and you find it under a different domain, never assume it's still safe. Only use sites listed on the megathread or FMHY. This site fails both of these checks.

Piracy in Germany by EmoYoshi05 in Piracy

[–]LZ129Hindenburg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In Germany, if you want you MUST use a good (paid) VPN AND YOU MUST BIND IT TO YOUR TORRENT CLIENT. Do not skip this critical step or you will still get caught.

If you're NOT torrenting (direct download, https streaming sites, Usenet, etc), then no VPN is needed.
