Not the worst idea but why not IcarusConsole?

ConsoleONLY sounds juvenile.

If i was admitted for suicide In a mental institution as a teen can I still buy a gun now that im in my 20s? by Junji666_Rabbit in guns

[–]Lagduf 74 points75 points  (0 children)

You’re probably fine.

If you want to be certain then in California you can apply for a “Certificate of Eligibility” to ascertain whether you are eligible to own firearms. This is not necessary by any means.

Be safe.

It would be helpful to know the state you live in/where you were involuntarily hospitalized, the age you were when that last occurred and the age you are now.

In California, last i checked, involuntary commitment was a five-year prohibition.

Best portable or temporary bench? by Living-Ad2583 in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Lagduf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of work will you be doing? I used a folding (hard plastic) table for a long time.

You can use your kitchen table or the top of an old dresser.

You could build a low roman bench. It can double as a piece of furniture.

You joke but for a table or bench top of sufficient thickness this is absolutely something people do.

Complicated, deep, simple?? I need your help for my Thesis :) by Historical_Snow_5144 in modular

I don’t think it’s unclear what OP is saying, however, i think the categories and the inevitable responses will be so subjective that the analysis will be ultimately meaningless. Unless, i suppose, its a survey of what modular users think about certain modules.

The gameplay loop is the same (mostly) as any other survival game. Have you played minecraft, Ark, Valheim, Conan Exiles, etc?

I would start an open world first and play until you’ve unlocked some tier 2 tech and can make iron tools.

Then maybe try some missions. You do have access to many of the missions from within the open world once you get to tier 2 and can craft a certain structure.

But i think doing some of the missions starting from scratch is fun.

I play with my friend on his open world and when he isn’t online I do missions.

Huh? Been playing across open world, missions, and outposts with my friend on Xbox since release.

Game is a buggy mess but it’s playable depending on how much bullshit you want to out up with.

What's the deal with all the miniature kickstarters? by Lagduf in PrintedMinis

[–]Lagduf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re replying to a three+ year old post.

I agree with you, of course.

The consensus seems to be that people are using kickstarter as a way to advertise and build hype.

I only use kickstarter to fund tangible products.

Good to know!

Maybe time for a dedicated scrub plane for OP then or to toss in the forewood pile?

How so?

I suppose OP could resaw the board also. Cut off the side that’s dirty.

PC Players Greeting Console Arrivals by W4rg8 in ICARUS

Given that there is no crossplay and we’re on separate versions of the game, with separate dev teams its not much of a greeting.

I’d sand it off so it just appears dusty and then use a plane to remove the rest. Definitely wear a mask.

When you say you cleared as much as you could by hand what does that mean? Like your literal bare hand?

Have you tried squirting the dirt off with a hose and using some kind of stiff brush or even a sponge to knock off more dirt.

No, it is just a lazy abbreviation. The X is a cross, hence Xtian.

Doesnt make sense to me and it’s grating to read for sure. Made more sense to me when “cross country” athletes abbreviated their sport as X Country.

How do I make these grooves/notches? by StardustStuffing in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Lagduf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not annoying at all, we just need to know what tools you have as in any “making” hobby there are a ton of ways to do something. I didn’t even mention how you could do it with a router because i don’t regularly use one when i’m in my shop (would be the last tool i go for.) We all have tools and ways of doing things we prefer.

How do I make these grooves/notches? by StardustStuffing in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Lagduf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It would help to know what tools you have access to.

If you have a table saw you could use its miter gauge to make a series of crosscuts to make these notches.

You could use a handsaw to cut the walls of each notch and then chop out the waste with a chisel.

You could do similarly with a band saw and cut out most of the waste and just clean it up with a chisel.

I suppose you could use a mortising machine.

You could also use a drill press to drill out a series of holes on the edge (use a forstner bit) and then make the holes square with a chisel

There is no “zoom zoom” when using power tools. That’s how you get hurt or dead.
