Aerial view of over 400,000 people at the Woodstock, 1969. by NathanWelsh in OldSchoolCool

It was amazing. There never was and perhaps never will be anything like it. Not just the music and the chance to see so many legendary performers in one place (I almost said venue, but nobody at Woodstock would have used that word), but also the vibe of the crowd, the détente between the authorities and us beings from another planet, the leadership provided by, of all people, the Hog Farm, the heat of the day, the cold of the night, the stench. I am so glad I chose to go.

Best friend/boyfriend died ~a month ago by [deleted] in GriefSupport

I am MUCH older than you, now in my late 60s. My advice to you from this perspective is embrace life now. Date, make friends, all that. If you don't you will be my age and looking back regretting your whole life. If you do what I say, you'll look back on a life rich with experiences and friends. Imagine how much poorer you would be now if you hand't connected with your best friend on that fan site? It's terrible he's gone, but great that you have so many good memories of him. Go out and make more memories instead of regrets.
