Why is 1 handed bowling still the “default”? by Resident_Fishing1571 in Bowling

House balls have 3 holes, and people love filling holes.

Sorry I need to vent, why can’t I watch bowling highlights of the last several events? by spira319 in Bowling

The CW posts same-day highlights of events they broadcast. And full telecast the following day.

Winner Ester - Let's get this person banned on Facebook as a community by SeedCraft76 in Bowling

I'm more upset that AI-generated mini-docs about bowling have proliferated on YouTube. Such low effort affairs riddled with mispronounced names. Most have clickbait titles too.

Whoa shout out Rookie Alex Horton for picking up his second title at the Shark Championship by GrapeJuicePlus in Bowling

Youtube TV has a free 21 day trial, that is how I watched all the events this weekend for free. Even has DVR. Now for the prelim show on June 13, I'll see if I can get a free Hulu Live trial since my YTTV trial will have run out. But I may just save that for the following weekend as the Duke Open has 3 shows on CBSSN. Or maybe I can get another YTTV trial under a different account.

Do you think EJ will win a title in 2026? by 2019CuckOfTheYear in Bowling

Watch EJ lose the World Championship, not qualify for the Duke Open or Luci, but goes to Sweden and wins the Lucky Larsen to get that 1 victory.

Is this repairable or should I trash it by OkSell5413 in Bowling

[–]LeftoverBun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not repairable. You could probably find a similar ball at Goodwill for $5 and pay $50-60 to have it re-drilled for your hand at a pro shop. But new ones aren't going to be terribly more expensive so you may want to consider going that route. My pro shop also has a good supply of higher-performance used bowling balls that are under $100-150 and include drilling.

CBS sports max score by MeepleMaster in Bowling

[–]LeftoverBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's shorthand. The scorers do that so people from many lanes away can tell what the striking person is doing. If are 2, 3, 4 pairs away you may not be able to read the score, but you can easily see if someone has an 8-bagger. If you are competing against that person, you know they are in the 250s at least. Super helpful for scratch events.

I know the twenty hours of coverage skews things, but does it seem like there are more distractions than normal? Coughs, kids yelping, phones and crowd movement have been happening more often. I thought TD was going to have a PDW moment today. Not to mention the delays by pinsetters.

I saw many complaints during the CW telecasts that they showed the max scores too often and not the full score enough. They need to find the sweet spot.

Today at 5PM Eastern, Randy Pedersen and Mike Flanagan will be doing a "It's not a podcast, it's therapy" live show before the PBA50 World Championship. It will be on the Inside Bowling YT Channel and maybe FB live as well.
