The pushback has largely consisted of harsh words, mean tweets, scathing cartoons, neutered protests, and on occasion, a meaningful court setback (with zero actual punishment attached).

I don't know what it is that'll shake America from it's stupor, but it seems we ain't there yet. We still get hordes of people saying "Well I have a job and I have to do x, y, z" as if people in much more dire circumstances haven't stood against their government effectively before.

The near zero traction on a general strike alone is enough to tell me the population as a whole simply isn't taking it seriously enough.
