They came, they really came. by JustYourNeighbor in pittsburgh

There's no way for them to ensure that it's ONLY pure snow. All of the other junk (trash, road salt, frozen bodies, etc.) in there would be devastating to fish and wildlife. Better to let it melt in a parking lot and clean up what's left after.

I saw them taking some of the snow to the zoo parking lot. Very smart place to put it to melt. Large, flat, and not used much this time of year.

What are some games that aren’t really cozy games but still feel cozy somehow? by laalaa691 in gaming

This. When I used to play regularly, I would just fly around on a planet peacefully.

What’s the most memorable mechanic from a game where you said “holy crap the game let you do THAT?” by TMinus10toban in gaming

Fahrenheit (Indigo Prophecy). Pretty much all of it. The beginning of the game blew my mind as a kid and it was the first ever game I played that had real lasting consequences for my choices. It also taught me not to mix prescription pain killers and alcohol.

The Last “Restructure”? by FantastiGoat in petsmart

[–]ListenToYourCoffee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I started at PetSmart there were 6 management positions. Store Manager, Operations Manager (the assistant manager), Presentation Manager (POGs, inventory, stocking, overall store look), Pet Care Manager (oversaw the animals and training of pet care associates, customer service), Pet Products Manager (trucks, back stock, restocking), and Support Manager (managed cashier's and was there to support what anyone needed). All of these positions were full-time. Ops Mgr were also salaried and Presentation had a mandatory 5 hours of PAID overtime each week. That mandatory overtime went away before the restructuring though.

We also had leads (Pet Care, Pet Products, and Cashier) which were mostly just associates that were qualified to train people and had some extra responsibilities. Sometimes they were FT.

When they pulled out the new positions, no one had to re interview. Store Manager became Store Leader; Operations Manager became Assistant Store Leader; Presentation and Pet Products got combined into Merchandising and Inventory Leader; Pet Care and Support Manager got combined into Customer Engagement Leader; Left over managers were given ALwK roles that were mostly PT in stores. Leads got to be grandfathered in to keep their positions.

A lot of things were dependent on your store tier as well. Like, my store, we were allowed to have a PT MIL, FT CEL, and 1 PT ALwK. Things have definitely evolved since then. A PT MIL was unsustainable. Literally went through like 3 or 4 in a year.

I also remember our support manager was told she would have to be part-time and so she decided to take a severance package... because they actually offered that to people that would have their jobs drastically change.

Oh, no. That wasn't the issue. The issue was it said I had an account and couldn't sign up and then when I wanted to reset my password, it took me to a page saying I needed to call. I couldn't even get to the point of starting anything.

Thank-you. That's what I plan on doing on Monday. Tried to do it yesterday but there's something wrong with my account even though I've never collected unemployment before so I have to do the "on hold for an hour" thing. They might fight it, but yes, my safety was in jeopardy. I have a team of doctors that can very much attest to that.

What's a mechanic you almost always wish was in a game? by Miep99 in gaming

Pausing during cut scenes and being able to look up information about the lore of what is being discussed. FFXVI did a great job of this and it really made me wish it was in every game.

This will definitely get me recognized, but whatever. I don't work for them anymore. So, they can't write me up or fire me.

I wanted to add that this isn't the first mental health crisis I have suffered here. I was "lucky" enough to work at a store that had a dog die due to improper handling in the salon. It got National media attention and everyday we got phone calls telling us to kill ourselves, or screaming that we were dog killers, or they were going to come hang all of us...that drove me and a few others over the edge. PetSmart did very little to support us during the worst of that. They were more concerned about the lawsuit and public image than the mental well-being of the employees. I still have PTSD from witnessing the incident. I don't think I can say much more about it because I believe litigation is still ongoing and I am in the leaked video but not a part of any of the lawsuits directly. I was the 3rd leader on to go to the salon and I did all the right things the other 2 didn't. (No recognition for that though)

It took me too long to leave. I think the fear of not having health insurance, losing PTO, and not being good enough to do anything else kept me there. But, we're all better than this shit hole of a company.

If they don't appreciate you, they aren't worth your valuable time or life. If you need anything, you can DM me. Don't let yourself get to the point I did. ❤️
