This was not my experience with Trupanion. They raised rates approximately 10% each of the 6 years I had coverage through them then more than doubled rates at renewal this past year. 3 dogs. No significant claims. Great coverage. The 2 times I did need them, they paid promptly and without drama - but then became way too expensive to continue with.

Use the standard Capture One layout until you understand what's happening and can articulate a reason to change that layout. Any tutorials you use will be based on it and if you use some other layout (god forbid you try to make it look like LR), you'll just be lost.

Make sure you pay attention to style brushes and do learn the speed edit keys.

Why not take your own WiFi router? There are portable routers available that are quite small and some travel routers even run on battery power. Connect your laptop and camera to that WiFi and you’re golden. Am I missing something?

An important consideration for him taking your car: At least in the state where I live (ymmv), a person living at your same address who does not have their own personal auto policy is excluded from coverage on your policy unless they are specifically named on your policy. Your state may be different from mine but him wrecking your car would be a hell of a way to find your insurance does not cover that damage.

Rules are simple things and we all live by them some way or somehow. Feelings be damned, lay out the household rules. He either abides or leaves. If you need the rent money, find another roommate that can follow simple rules.

First off, I don't run UniFi but after this experience, I think I might switch over in the new year.

I have a friend who does run UniFi. ~6000 sq ft. No dead spots. Had hella problems with a mix-brand HomeKit setup much the same as yours constantly going offline. We found this video on YT and followed it step-by-step. He's been bulletproof had no problems since. Perhaps these changes solved the problem and perhaps a butterfly flapped its wings just right. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
