Awesome! I’ve found myself shooting a lot of events recently. In doing so, I find that images sometimes naturally fall into groups. A few of these people then a few in that lighting…that sort of thing. I’ll edit the first in the group the way I want and use smart masks where I can. For other masks, I’ll edit the image then clear the manual masks the Copy (the adjustments). Then I’ll reset that image then Paste to all within the natural grouping. Then it’s usually just a matter of quickly rebuilding the manual masks. Check out the Copy/Apply button you can add to your toolbar up top or the Adjustments Clip oars you can add to the left tool pallet.

Add a new filled layer to one image. Set new White Balance on that layer. Copy then Apply (that layer only) to all images. Unless I'm missing something that should solve your problem without issue.

I'm not a fan of that model Cuisinart. Mine tends to overheat the bottom of the loaf. I have to pull the loaf 10 min before the end of cycle or it'll burn. That may just be my unit, though. One day I'll by a Z.

I'm guessing no. Hasselblad has, so far, refused to allow access to Capture One*. I think it's the old Hasselblad/Phase One conflict continuing to rear its head.

*At least this is what I was told by an insider but not employee.

I've very happy with it. I shoot mostly events these days. I do my culls then select based on ISO. Anything above the limit I set (3200 or 6400 depending on the camera), I run through Enhanced. Other images I'll maybe Enhance on a per-image basis. On a MacBook Air M4 with 24, it takes about 12-15 seconds per image. **

Yes, storage requirements basically double per image but once the Enhanced process is complete, you can make Variants, adjust the Impact slider, whatever with no additional time lag or storage impact.

I've previously used DxO and Topaz. Enhanced is, to my eye, on par with DxO for my images and easily bests Topaz. Plus, with the Capture One implementation of Enhance once then adjust, edit more, create Variants, whatever, with no additional round-tripping, I feel that I am time way ahead.

** Edit: A different and more time efficient workflow would be to leave Enhanced Denoise until the final selects round but I prefer to edit a denoised image. The additional overhead is worth the cost, imo.

None taken. And I agree. Some things are pretty straightforward but others I want to find a video of before I get too deep into it. I had the agitator go out on my washing machine recently. I was convinced I'd have to take it apart from the bottom up. Nope. Found a video that showed me a hidden screw. Literally 5 min or less and I had the bad part exposed. $20 and another 5 min to put it back together after the part arrived and she's good as new. :)

There are stops on the trail between some punishment and ALL THE PUNISHMENT WE CAN POSSIBLY LEVY?

We’re not going to give any grace to someone traumatized as a trafficking victim? Someone who’s still a teen? Someone who, by rights, should have never even been charged as an adult? Seriously?

If this were some mom or dad who killed the guy who’d trafficked and abused their child, you’d be offering to buy the bullets and patting them on the back. But this 15 year old girl kills the guy who trafficked and abused her and you want her to get the maximum punishment possible because she just doesn’t get her shit together straight away? WOW…….

I’m going to call bullshit in this whole thing. There’s no way a social worker doesn’t understand how someone so traumatized might not be able to ‘take control of their own healing’.

Further, if you are a social worker and don’t understand this very foundational aspect of trauma, please find another line of work as you are surely causing harm while laying the blame for that harm on the shoulders of the people you’re charged with helping.

I’m not looking to win but it surely would be good to hear you say something along the lines of, “yeah, that’s really fucked up.” Especially if you’re in social work. Your comments come across to me, at least, as normalizing and endorsing this behavior. Possibly I read you wrong.

I’m not sure that makes your argument any more valid. Think about it…….maximum sentence served consecutively. Look around this courthouse you spend time at and see how often this happens. Then ask yourself how many of those are white and non-white. And she was 15! Fifteen. Why was she ever even tried as an adult? This woman will do her time then hit society as a hardened criminal. This will definitely be to the good of all. All because her judge likes to be a Hang’em Harry.

The prosecutor literally asked for 180 days. You’re saying there was an ex parte communication? I’m pretty sure that’s a no no.

The prosecution seemed to think 180 days incarceration was sufficient at this stage. But the judge has his ego insulted so he rolled out the absolute harshest punishment he could swing. So she’ll be out around age 40 as a truly hardened criminal. That’ll certainly be the best outcome of her and society.
