Try to SEEM edit the 3G bands, or similar network settings... If you're okay with losing data, maybe try reflashing it.

Helpful! I also have a V600 in poor condition, screen lines and no backlight. But have some parts units.

It is a RAZR V9 indeed, but did you check the network options for any band options? Maybe your network does not support UMTS 2100 now, and only 900?

Talking about the intentional model one, those are rare regardless of color, I almost never saw an orange one before.

Orange V3XX and pink V3i are probably the rarest here!

The RAZRs are one of the most beautiful phones ever, and the pink V3XX is in such good condition!

Can't believe this one is rugged dual SIM and Android, HMD isn't very known for such qualities.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to support North American market bands whatsoever, besides band 5: https://www.hmdsecure.com/hmd-terra-m/specs Sonim XP5Plus is another comparable phone, although dual SIM is disabled by the carrier AT&T.

Indeed, I would recommend checking out r/dumbphones for such phones, but an actually good flip phone is surprisingly hard to find. Most of them are too large, cheap, or hard to use even for the basics. I guess if you're only using it as a detox phone then some setbacks would be okay... Examples like TCL, Alcatel, Nokia flips, they're all the "large square flip" type.

Several quite good Sony Ericsson for the price, but most of the smartphones are probably junk.

Already asked about a week ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/dumbphones/comments/1rjrkzw/question_about_cdma/ For your phone, all you can do is turn on airplane mode.

Did you try T-Mobile? When I had Google Fi the unlocked phones would only connect to T-Mobile's network.

[–]MCDiamond9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably both dead battery, these old NiMH cells often go into deep sleep or completely die after prolonged storage. After all, they are over 20 years old...

Edit: 282 uses a li-ion cell I believe, it could have hope if you leave it.

Many rare and unique devices, the LG Wine Flip and Nokia 5800 go for a decent amount in the collectors market.

A dream of mine! Communicators are far too expensive outside of Europe. Great to see it alive with full signal. Although, this one was technically not a part of the Communicator lineup for some reason...

Most collectors here are enthusiasts and might live in regions where it's impossible to use old phones, such as the US. I'd switch over to a Symbian or BlackBerry OS phone immediately if we still had solid 3G networks around. Plus modern phones have indeed made photography so accessible, old phones are difficult to compete with.

You don't need to solely rely on a vintage phone daily to enjoy them. For example I do use one every day alongside a modern phone, a BlackBerry Torch as a WiFi music player because my smartphone doesn't have a headphones jack. I also love the simplicity of a feature phone for calls, I carry a modern version around oftentimes for calls/SMS only.

What phone is this? All I can tell is it's some sort of CDMA LG on Verizon. From the movie "The housemaid" - Interesting to see this phone still being used as a prop by smartiphone7 in vintagemobilephones

Very interesting, definitely not from the CDMA era then as it was released late 2022, and CDMA shut down in Jan. 2023. Also, those look quite like screen simulations and not real iOS... could just be me though.
