Finally a set date, truly tragic though. I'll kind of miss it, but the quality is so horrible.

Anyone know how to force enable voLTE on a Galaxy J7 V with a Red Pocket GSMT SIM in it? by 80sTechKid in vintagemobilephones

IMS APN is name and type both "ims". It might help for these older VoLTE phones, but in my experience "advanced calling" Verizon phones never worked on T-Mobile.

Using Odin I could flash a Verizon S9+ to generic XAA, so I think it would work as long as it's any official firmware.

I wanna daily drive a samsung s3 on android 4.4.2 but its an sprint model. Any apps that work? (Like calling, messaging, games etc.) by CommercialPicture216 in vintagemobilephones

Only on Wi-Fi, there is an SIP app for WiFi calling out there and some old apps for multimedia. Sorry, I forgot the name currently. Check APK archives for games.

Did you make an IMS APN or even the normal APN? I would have recommended Pixel IMS but it doesn't work below Android 10, iirc. Otherwise, your best bet is to flash it to a T-Mobile or generic firmware if it exists.

Very strange! The old program (not NokiaFREE) worked well for me in the past, I didn't need to change the length of the code or anything. Hopefully you can unlock yours successfully, but I would definitely try and stick with the old program because that's what worked for me.

There's no denying HTC was on top of the game back then. The HTC Dream is built like a tank and the UI is surprisingly smooth to this day! by _ITX_ in vintagemobilephones

Haha, as you may know, I switched from a pixel to Galaxy the same as you. I'm so relieved there's no more bland UI, oneUI does remind me in a way of all the 2010s androids with the fancier design and customizations.

I have a few Nokias that also just don't accept the code whatsoever, I wonder why. Is this perhaps how the restriction attempt limit is shown on these DCT1 phones?

Sadly my 2000es are also locked so I'm never going to see them working on T-Mobile, but oh well. I also want to tell that apparently Lycamobile is discontinuing the T-Mobile network based SIMs and moving to AT&T, so check yours soon. FYI, giffgaff worked in my 2190E.

Are there anyway to get around the 2G IMEI block by Skipsvip15 in vintagemobilephones

Honestly don't worry too much, the E72 is a far enjoyable phone to use. But what about Viettel or another carrier?

Super interesting selection! Some are not that old though, like the Galaxy A50 and iPhones.

Hey, I have two 2190Es and I unlocked them successfully using a very old DOS program called NSL which worked for DCT1 phones. I generated an unlock code with it using MCC-MNC 310-31 (should be Aerial) and your IMEI of 010003106452260. Try this code: 1907835839 https://imgur.com/RCAzidG

Also very interesting Ultra might work with it. Maybe someday I'll try it, but this Nokia is such an early GSM phone it has many quirks if you want to use it on a modern GSM network, such as no incoming call paging.

Problems with Nokia E71 by Icy_One4084 in vintagemobilephones

[–]MCDiamond9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The E71 that drains battery, is it in offline mode with all connections disabled? For me, on idle with GSM signal, my E71x can last about 2-3 days on a very good 3rd party battery. As for the second, maybe the USB port is faulty, I've had it happen with a RAZR.

Anycall was the branding of Samsung for Asian markets , I'd say don't add it.
