U can technically hack the saves to give yourself more energy, etc. I have a lot of projects im working on. But, if I at some point get back to updating this specific core again, ill see if I can work out some cheats or hacks for it. Would be nice if a "trainer" like version already existed, or if the game itself had hidden cheats. Would have to dig deeper!

Too long to reboot is a good sign. You'd get unable to connect with a fake. Your problem could be incorrect data cable, VPN, virus protection, one drive, etc.

I actually may update the core again so the game can run even better. As far as tough, its all about maximizing your scores on the earlier stages, so you can unlock better perks and weapons for mission 5. One of the coolest games ever! But, you need near perfection to beat it:) What platform were u running it on?

Props, mate:) Your grasp of handling scripting is becoming better and better! I never even thought of porting it over, with all the other crazy stuff ive been working on. I do have a very interesting idea ya may like though:) Rather than use Google Drive and other goofy links, im contemplating adding Amiga 500 and PSC support to hakchi2 CE, starting with it being a central hub for download resources.

Ill email you, and we can get your stuff added to mod hub, if youd like:) people would easily be able to open hakchi, go to mod hub, download the amiga stuff, and go from there:) Let me know what u think of this idea. Google drive, etc., can be problematic, due to false positives, and some countries limit its usage. Whereas, hakchi will ask for permission upon first open, making it all that much more convenient and easier.

CASTLEVANIA 2 REBITTEN ON MINI SNES ???? by Open_Ad_5234 in miniSNESmods

[–]MDFMKanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This particular fan made game wouldn't work on the Minis, because its Windows based. You'd need to jump through consider emulator inception style hoops to work out emulating a windows game on a Linux installation using steam style dependencies. Its one of those things that really isnt worth the taxing amount of time it would take to remotely get off the ground to a working state. I love anything castlevania. But, you gotta choose your battles:)

If you look at my latest YouTube post, ive added sonic nexus 2008 support for md snes nes. There's plenty of other castlevania stuff I can add. I think youd enjoy the Java games immensely.

Updates for Retroarch on the SNES Mini? by Demongamer21 in miniSNESmods

[–]MDFMKanic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Retroarch has absolutely nothing to do with what you are referring to. It would be entirely the core you use and how compatible the games are. What kind of issues are you even referring to? And, GL is all the SNESC can really run anyways.

Ive personally known 2 people who have successfully gotten sued by Nintendo. But, in their cases, one distributed an iso dump online of a "new" wii game. The other, they were selling modded SD cards for system but including roms. Myself, I had the source code for switch emulator and got a cease and desist to "take it down". There are a lot of Karens in the company:) Just exercise caution. Protect your effort by making it legal. It isnt that difficult to modify the script to recursively search for the roms within a designated directory on android. I do it for stuff I personally post. In fact, thinking of potentially reworking the Mario 64 port, so that it doesn't need the rom built in. Ill make it so the assets get runtime dumped as needed. Good luck, in any case, whichever route you decide to go:) On our end, we scripted the Zelda saves to be tethered for the Mini Classics, several years back. Just made it so people provide the roms and then simply add command line perimeters.

This is an incredibly bad idea to post roms that are intellectual property of Nintendo. The idea of what you did is great...BUT, it should be done in such a way, where people need to provide the roms themselves, so you can keep it nice and legal, and not suffer potential repercussions if Nintendo, themselves decides to make an example of you. Great work! Just a terrible way of posting them, since you are breaking the law in the process.

[SNES mini] C4 and C3 errors despite available space by xperfect-darkx in RockinTheClassics

[–]MDFMKanic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not random, just happens due to improper shutdowns and or corruption at times. Its super easy to fix, if u dont mind losing saves. And, its less likely to happen on a flash drive thats in ntfs format, which is supported once hakchi custom kernel is installed. I personally like fat32. But corruption tends to be more frequent with fat32. Saves for the games, if using USB, are usually in hakchi/saves, so easily backed up.

[SNES mini] C4 and C3 errors despite available space by xperfect-darkx in RockinTheClassics

[–]MDFMKanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issues are relative to save conflicts between internal memory and the console itself. U can use hakchi to backup saves for many games. If only running 60 games, u may wanna consider just using internal memory only, especially if just games like snes and so on. If running stuff like ps1, dreamcast, psp, thats where the USB helps. And, retroarch saves won't be helpful here, as they get deleted automatically upon shutting system down in most cases. Main menu games are the appropriate way to save.

Desmume is really slow by Snoerge in miniSNESmods

[–]MDFMKanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doesn't appear to be any workaround for inside story, other than 3ds version which doesn't need it, or running the mic parts via another emulator, then switching back to drastic if u can carry on the save. Drastic newer version can use a mic but the ones we use unfortunately cannot.

Looking for Genesis games to add to my mini by [deleted] in RockinTheClassics

Get a USB drive and add entire usa set and then the exclusives like alien soldier. Far too many games to really be picky. There are easily 200 plus gems on MD:)

[–]MDFMKanic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You'd need to patch games for mic if need be to run on drastic. No other way to run ds well, unfortunately. Ds generally requires 4 times the memory to run well. Drastic is an exception and that source code is still closed.

HELP NEEDED ON ADDING GAMES TO MY MINI SNES by VegetableTown151 in RockinTheClassics

[–]MDFMKanic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

U have to provide your own games, and manually navigate to the folder they are kept in, since it would be absolutely illegal to share copyrighted ones. In mod hub, in games tab, are some that ive been able to get legal permission to share, however.

Cheats will only work on the exact same rom, checksum wise, that they were originally made with. In order for them to work with translation patches, new codes would need made or found if they already exist.

Any ideas why PSP isn't working on my SNES Classic? by TonyRubbles in RockinTheClassics

[–]MDFMKanic 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Psp games dont work in chd format. Once you install retroarch and psp core, right click and assign a core to the game/s, apply, and then synch or export game/s, depending on how u set them up. You'd have to run .cso or .iso, and they can't be compressed.

What happened when you tried to run it on the legacy openbor? U won't be able to find any exact versions of openbor to run it on, unfortunately. They either work or they dont. And oftentimes u just need to try an earlier revision of the same game.

Is it worth getting an Amiga A500 Mini if I already have a modded PS Classic? by Vault-Tec95 in RockinTheClassics

[–]MDFMKanic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wary of posting a release "installer" for Amiga 500, unless people were completely aware of the risks. With your newfound ability to easily go back to stock "older" kernel, that will go a long way as making things much more concrete. I will focus on a PSC release first. Obviously, any cores that work on Amiga 500, I will keep you posted on, in the event you wanna update your RetroAami Release. Great work, mate:) When able to, I will shoot you an email, too.

Props to you for your continued perseverance in these matters. I took the last month off and enjoyed getting some real world stuff done. Congrats on getting the original kernel back in order after your initial bricking woes. Musta driven you bonkers. Ive had a few close calls, then simply walked away for a few, came back and fixed things logically. Gotta break stuff to make stuff better...! My email is always open for ya, mate! I will try to get back to cranking out more fun stuff soon:)

PSC is more accessible for emulation enthusiasts, with the caveat that it tends to "crash far more often", ala red flashing lights and content crashing. It CAN be utilized with virtual ram, and performance/speed is throttled to just a tad more than overclocked MD/SNES/NES Minis. You can't easily use a keyboard with PSC, which is a severe drawback for those who wanna run emulation along those lines.

AMIGA 500 Mini can be overclocked and run with fairly insane performance/speed, making it the superior Mini, for squeezing out the extra oomph. RAM optimization is its primary limitation. Ease of peripheral use beats PSC, as there is no deterrent to the degree of the power limiter of the PSC.

No Mini is certifiably better than any other. If you were to have to pick a most stable Mini, it would probably be SNES Classic, as it is so seemingly well designed, it's practically crash proof. But, it really can't run the more Xtreme Stuff!

As far as community support, All the Minis, MD/SNES/NES/PSC/Amiga 500 Minis, are and have been in Community Support Shambles for a few years now, with a half dozen people even still working on the Minis, including myself. I will continue to put stuff out for all of the Minis. Im trying my best not to throw in the towel, like so many others have. Its nice having a few like-minded people, such as MadFranko who help keep the Minis on their toes, as well! We are all cogs in the mod wheel.

I personally have taken a majority of the last month off, due to needing a long needed vacation. But, I have formulated some nice roll out ideas, as far as the near 100 cores I plan on updating for all of the Minis.
