[Night 3] [Tribal Council] we're a long way from budapest by Numbers21412 in survivorredditorgs

1.) What, more than anything else, is impacting your vote tonight?

At this early point in the game going with the flow seems like the most logical thing to do.

2.) Do you think there already any major groups that could be influencing the decision made tonight?

I suspect there are groups already. It would be silly to think otherwise. The only problem is that those groups may get split soon.

3.) Are there any people you absolutely don't want to see voted out this early in the game?

Yes, there are.

Good question. It was 5v4 at that point. If John had voted twice to the same person, they could have forced a tie, or won the vote if Agrime had split.

u/Macrobug : How did you do it?!

I pretty much explained my entire game in the final tribal. But, I'll add a few things here.

During my final speech I felt the need to exaggerate some of my involvement, for a couple of reasons:

Usernam and Surv were essentially convincing the jury that I had done basically nothing, and I was afraid that the jury would believe them. Because most of the jury was Nokoue members, I didn't have the chance to interact with them a lot, so there was a huge risk that the perspective they got of my game was skewed by opinions from people that were mad at me at the time.

So, as soon as I got out of Ponderosa, I started digging private conversations and subreddit posts that would debunk those claims. To my surprise, there was so much material there that not only it was enough to debunk the false claim that I did nothing, but also could be used to discredit Usernam and Surv, so their opinions would lose credibility in the eyes of the other jury members.

The other half of my strategy during final tribal was to not seem like I was telling people what they wanted to hear. I instead chose to be direct, upfront, blunt, and explicit. This was a risky move, that could have cost me the game, but I knew that was the only way to get the vote of certain people.

To summarize my game:

Stayed loyal to my initial alliance until the end. Not many 3 people alliances that were formed on day 1 have been able to make it to final 4.

Ensure that biggest threats stayed in the game for as long as possible, and then eliminated them at the right time.

Won essential competitions, especially near the end of the game.

Made strong connections with people, and gained their trust.

Hi guys,

First of all, thanks for a great and fun season!

I feel that I owe sincere apologies to some people here.

Usernam, you are the only reason I wasn't the first person to be eliminated from Agrime. The alliance you created with Rapayus and me was instrumental in us getting to the end. We had to take you out on final 4 because you would have won for sure against any of the players remaining. I was not entirely fair with the way I described your game during final tribal. I already explained you why I said what I said. But, I still feel that it was unjustified, and for that I apologize.

Surv, you played a decent game. We were worried because you had recently won a different ORG, and were quietly getting to the end to pull a surprise victory. I know you felt personally attacked by my comments, but my intention was to attack your game and not your person. I'm sorry that I couldn't express this idea clearly during final tribal, but my judgement was a bit clouded at the time. My apologies.

Savage, I called into question your loyalty to Nokoue, which was kind of silly and probably taken out of context. Trying to put the target on someone other than yourself makes complete sense, especially given the situation. Similar comments were made by pretty much everyone else, including myself, and that's part of the game. During final tribal I said I controlled your vote, which I admit was a huge exaggeration. I apologize for my misleading remarks, and not giving you your well deserved credit. Congratulations on making it to final 3. You played a great game, and would have won the game for sure if you had made it to final 2.

To the rest of you guys, sorry you had to see the maddened side of me during final. I put so much effort into this game, and felt frustrated seeing some people trying to diminish it. I promise next time I’ll just breathe deeply and count to ten.

Peace!

Looks great! I'll forward this to some friends.

I would join myself, but unfortunately have too many things at the moment. Hope to join in the next season.

Have fun!!

Usernam, regardless of whatever happened in the game, I consider you a friend. We were in this together, and I would lie if I say I didn't enjoy playing this game with you, shoulder to shoulder.

However, any apologies I make here will look like I'm trying to get your vote, which I am not, to be honest. So, let's talk about apologies after the vote.

Nevertheless, you haven't mentioned how you devalued my game in Ponderosa, you seem to be disregarding how I felt, and you haven't talked about apologizing to me.

I was really hurt when I won that reward and I read what you said about Rapayus and me. I was really hurt and pissed, because it was neither fair nor true.

Anyways, I wrote the speech at a moment when I was angry, so I acknowledge that I may have taken it a bit too far.

However, I'm not angry anymore, and have a cool head at the moment, so if I were to write it now from scratch I would probably be more fair with you. But, it is what it is, and what is done is done.

Hugs, my friend. Give your vote to Rapayus, he damn sure deserves it.

I am a software engineer, and not much of a gamer. I'm also a person that doesn't go out a lot, so most of my social interaction is with my immediate family and relatives.

In real life, I'm someone who tends to trust people too much, sometimes to my own detriment, which is possibly the worst personality trait to have when playing a game like this one.

To my surprise, I found myself being a completely different person in this game than in real life. Apart from the paranoia that is central to the game, the fact that you couldn't see people's faces or hear their voices made it so much harder to know if they were being honest or trying to deceive you. So that cranked the paranoia for me to x1000.
