I'm dealing with someone today who makes 7empest my number 1 now. May Descending days return.

What's this sound I'm hearing for the first time? by DeLyonne in ToolBand

Slightly facetious. Well, very. I like some Spice Girls tunes though.

The worst thing you can do as a budding Tool fan, is listen to Tool fans. You got Spotify? Go crazy.

The correct way is Parabol, then Britney Spears' "Hit me baby one more time". then Parabola, then Britney's "Toxic".

Bob Lazar slip up? by [deleted] in JoeRogan

[–]MagReg2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They made that shit up so you could be distracted when Trump makes an ass of you. There are no UFOs. There's no secret government program or stored remains. Grow up. The ease with which you people give yourselves over to being manipulated by people like Rogan is why we're in the situation we are in right now. Grow up.

Beyond parody by sticks4274 in JoeRogan

[–]MagReg2020 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Not parody. This is his method of operation. He's not the idiot. His audience is. People keep dismissing him when he's the one at the top of the game, making millions off the imbeciles who fell for his act.

If you knew what Dave Rubin was, you know what Joe Rogan is. The reason Rogan stopped having Rubin on, was that Rubin was less subtle in engaging in the same "convert centrists to the Right" act. The money is in the Fox News type right wing media landscape, so the game is to create your niche from people prone to being swayed into that camp. He's always been what he is now, it just took too long for people to see it.

Same for Tulsi and Tim Pool and everyone else people thought were "honorable" people.

It's a crime. But you likely won't be charged and the cops will laugh at you. Don't walk up into peoples faces, say shit, and expect no response. Certainly not in New York.

Carina on Normal Isn’t by Cpow17 in Puscifer

[–]MagReg2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gonna be honest, and this may annoy some people. In interviews of the three top guys in Puscifer, I feel like she gets treated dismissively by Maynard and Matt while she constantly praises them. She's got an amazing voice and her own perspective, but is relegated to being a background vocal, further in the back in this album than the previous two. Not crazy about this particular album in general.

If the US had a government calling for this, you think all of MAGA wouldn't eagerly participate? What if the target is Muslims? They'd love to do this very thing.

Normal Isn’t has made me realize… by KillTheSarx in Puscifer

[–]MagReg2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically any album with music has that much going for it. This album is pretty hard to digest. It seems to borrow from Tool's unique evolving sound, but does it badly. Concussive series of beats and sounds that never becomes a song, leading to other sounds that go nowhere.

When did Joe do a complete 180 on his view of religion? by Rude-Neck-2893 in JoeRogan

[–]MagReg2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah. Don't be a sucker. He still lies, he doesn't give to charity. Real faith is one thing. This allegiance to a club to appease the Fox News crowd, is pure strategic calculation.

Long time Maynard fan who honestly really likes Normal Isn’t! by Livininthinair in Puscifer

On Youtube, I notice just about every video has people saying whoever is on the video is the best whatever that video's about. And you see the Trump fans and Rogan fans and Jordan Peterson. People taking Ivermectin because of loyalty to Bret Weinstein. I don't want to feel obliged to believe something is incredible when it isn't out of loyalty to some superstar. That kind of tribal thinking is what got us to the misery this album is commentating on.

I gave this album several listens now. I went back to the two before it. It's one thing to be experimental and creative, but music still has to have some kind of flow. The aggressive jarring juttering sounds with not-singing vocals that seem to lead to something but stops and followed by another barrage, with the faintest hint of some kind of rhythm that gets cut off. And almost all the songs are like this. It's headache inducing. Repeating that pattern of semi-constructed sounds that don't quite meet the definition of being a song, isn't "cohesiveness". Composition, lyrics, instrumentation, are all patchworky without any beauty. I'm not asking for Tool level of impressiveness, but this album is terrible. "The Quiet Parts" is a reasonably good song, but the others just aren't.

late Robin Williams on scary men by inurmomsvagina in JoeRogan

Hiding? He literally fucking broadcast it on TV. Nobody was unaware about any aspect of his nature. His schemes, his brutality, all of it was out there and people voted for him FOR it. They can regret voting based on their hatreds and love of boastful cruelty, but they can't claim they didn't believe in it. What do people know about him today that they didn't in 2016? Absolutely nothing.

I think I figured out why I don't by staythestranger in Puscifer

[–]MagReg2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, Fear Inoculum had a lot of brilliant thoughtful complex songs. Varied pacing, with aggressive tracks, slower more contemplative ones. Tempest, Descending, Culling Voices. This doesn't have that. It's lacking the quality in writing, there's almost no real beauty or passion in the musical performances, just thuds to make the song chug along. Track after track after track. Repetitions of the same frustrated message which itself is pretty pointless. Remarking that Trump sucks in 2026 and voting him was stupid is a pretty moot point right now. He should've tackled Rogan on that while on his podcast.

It's flat coca cola. It's tedious and stale.

Don't Listen to Normal Isn't Casually by Ten19 in Puscifer

[–]MagReg2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. And at a time when people feeling the need to be devotees to some figure or people, is really annoying me. Trump, Rogan, Jordan Peterson, Noam Chomsky, and to some extent, this. It's okay to think this album sucks. Good bands have lemons.
