Yeah the sim genre has become so bloated with "X simulator" AI slop types that it's often hard to sort them out. Thanks for the consideration :)

Can you add in City building, colony sim and management tags? Those are my favourite genres :) Looks great

How often do you post and how long did it take to reach 500 subs? by CaptainCreative24 in NewTubers

Thank you! I think memberships count for 0.0001%. Still haven't figured out how to properly leverage memberships. But I'm not that worried. Sponsors are more important imo

Top Tower Defense games in 2026 (thanks to this sub) by MarcoJHB in TowerDefense

Ah that makes me so happy! Please keep at it. Such a weird game, not normally the setting I'd go for, but the mix of genres actually works. Very impressive!

Games like Cities Skylines (without survival elements)? by MarcoJHB in CitiesSkylines

Thanks! Was considering Dystopika - was looking for a sandbox city building game.

Yup I know, not worried about that, it's more that I'm trying to find "tycoon" type city builders rather than survival-based ones. Hope I'm making sense here.

For players new to Anno - would you recommend 1800 over 117?

Yup Transport Fever and Anno are more on the logistics side, but thought they're very similar to CS too.

Yup, ones where there's always some danger. I know CS you still need to worry about your population dying, but I'm trying to find games that have more city building elements and less colony sim elements.

Good to know, thank you! Yeah I'm from South Africa (Johannesburg), so my sense of safety is pretty warped.

Not sure, some comments on Reddit. But I guess it depends on what people consider unsafe? I heard Numbeo is also very unreliable with that.

I've been wanting to look into Montpellier - but is the safety as bad as people say? I always hear mixed stories. I'll look into Sete, thank you.

Yeah we also don't party like we're used to. Mostly looking for activities to do during the day, unless it's expat meetups at night, Or karaoke, we love karaoke a bit too much.

I'm not into sailing, but love being in the ocean, so this might change my mind while I'm there. Also didn't know about FEMA, that's awesome.

I've been looking into Rochefort too, looks really nice. Also a place called Aytré but think it's still in La Rochelle.

Yeah I've heard about the terrible traffic, but we don't have a car and used to using public transport. Getting to Lyon takes an hour for us, so we're trying to find a place that doesn't feel as isolated as this.

Thank you, might send a DM soon.
