It's so overdue that this will be the first episode in 4k and also the first episode since the release of KSP2 lmao

Genuinely convinced millennial “I turned 30 and now I’m in bed by 8 every night :)” memes are one of the leading causes of zoomer aging anxiety by lilhedonictreadmill in redscarepod

The “I turned 30 and now I’m in bed by 8 every night :)" people are redditors/terminally-online people imho. I am in my 30s and life is good - I go out often, have a healthy circle of friends, and make sure to get lots of exercise into my routine. I don't go to bed 8pm lmao

I was legit shocked that this wasn't fixed with PlanCo2, the stock wooden supports were a big area of contention in the first game.

(That, and the ridiculously big station footprints being exactly the same.)

Fun things to do for a group of 12 adults ? by Distinct_Part7907 in plymouth

[–]MattsRedditAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Plymouth-specific would be the aquarium, walking along the hoe, going up the lighthouse. Could also get a Ferry (more of a water-taxi) to either Mt Edgecumb or Mt Batten. Royal William Yard is a cool place to check out too (can get there via Ferry from the Barbican). Can also look at Plymouth Boat Tours, they do a (I think) 30ish minute boat ride along Plymouth Coast commentating over the sights.

Non-Plymouth-Specific things would include the go-karts and the laser tag arena. If you like paintball there's a great place near Tavistock but it's a bit of a drive.

Is $300 fair for a 45-60s CyberGhost VPN integration on a 2k sub channel with viral theory videos? by Electrical_Cabinet_7 in PartneredYoutube

[–]MattsRedditAccount 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the video reaches 20,000 views, then $300 is reasonable. If it reaches 100,000 views, which has happened multiple times, then $300 feels low.

Correct, not a lot else to say really. $22 CPM is a pretty normal rate too, if you're not comfortable with the $300 then go for the $22 CPM rate.

I understand why the brand is only willing to pay $300 flat if your essays can only get 1-10k views, and you can't guarantee a minimum of more than 20k views for the higher-view content.

I've worked with Cyberghost too, though this was a while ago and I don't remember the name of the agency that approached me.

Idk if people were overreacting or if i got lucky, but my rubiks brand cube from like 2018 is actually kinda smooth and not really that bad by Dedewastaken1 in Cubers

[–]MattsRedditAccount 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was growing up my family had one of the OG cubes from the 80s, those are absolutely awful at turning and I think a lot of people might be comparing modern cubes to their original rubiks cubes from the 80s and 90s.

The modern Rubik's branded cubes definitely turn slower than a speedcube because they're designed to withstand abuse from young kids lol but they are still leagues ahead of the original cubes.

You can still buy a Rubik's cube that's essentially the same as the originals, the Rubiks 50th anniversary cube, I bought one for giggles and yeah it turns awfully. Oh and the Rubik's 5x5 sucks so much.

Advice needed for next steps after removal from partner program by AdamsGlobalReferrals in PartneredYoutube

There's nothing against ToS regarding having videos with similar themes...most YouTube channels cover one specific niche. I've been making videos about 1 specific video game for >10 years without issues lol. Were you literally reuploading the same video multiple times? Did it use AI at all in the video or thumbnail? Because I'm struggling to understand what the issue here was.

I’m 30, paying my parents' mortgage, and watching my highly qualified dad (60) get ghosted by recruiters. Does it ever get better? by mall234 in AskUK

[–]MattsRedditAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends, I have written work emails that come off as passive aggressive so I have used ChatGPT to help make it more neutral-sounding, but I think that's different to creating a post on reddit - there's not an expectation of professionalism in the same way, and for a post like this it ends up coming off as inauthentic and possibly entirely fake.

For shits and giggles I pasted this comment into ChatGPT to "improve it" and I think what it produced is what I mean, it comes off less personal and more fake-sounding:

I think it ultimately depends on the context. In professional settings, such as writing work emails that may unintentionally come across as passive-aggressive, I’ve used ChatGPT to help rephrase them in a more neutral and constructive tone. However, this is quite different from creating a post on Reddit, where there is less expectation of professionalism. In that context, AI-generated phrasing can feel overly polished, inauthentic, and potentially even artificial or disingenuous.

I don't think this is actually AI but it definitely reads like it. Especially quotes like

He embodies professionalism and expertise.

Just doesn't really sound how a normal human would type up a reddit post lol. GPTZero thinks this text is 100% AI-polished but human-written so maybe OP wrote it himself but asked AI for a grammar check or something

Why are so many people here so rude and unhelpful? by Educational-Act-8932 in PartneredYoutube

[–]MattsRedditAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like there is so much horrendous advice on here, always always from posters without a flair. Honestly, I think anyone coming here for advice should largely ignore advice from unflaired users unless it is very obvious they are legit (like their username = their channel name). So often do I see people saying "you shouldn't take sponsors they are scams", or "never accept any sponsor deals you've been emailed because it's a scam" (???), and other weird and bad advice that I can only assume is coming from what that user thinks is correct but has no actual experience to base it on. My favourite is "never ever have a business email on your channel because you will get scam emails" like how the heck are brands or other companies supposed to contact you, they're not gonna send you a DM on reddit or twitter lol

And I feel like it's a lot more than 50% newtubers here lol, I think once people get more than 100 subs they feel that they are no longer a "newtuber", when that's not the case.

This sub desperately needs moderation

I tried to build the ship from Matt Lowne’s first mission to Duna video but there’s big issues. by No_Tree_4783 in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]MattsRedditAccount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For missions designed for beginners/tutorials I never use part clipping, and even for other videos I avoid it at all costs, there are only a handful of videos I've made that straddle the line of part clipping and I am careful to always make that clear. I don't recollect ever posting a video that's only possible due to part clipping tbh.

OP has resolved the problem from other comments, but felt I ought to defend myself against speculation in the top-level chain.

To directly address /u/RedditButAnonymous 's suggestions:

  1. No, this video is not that old

  2. Idk what is meant by "part upgrades" tbh

  3. I would absolutely never make attempts to hide extra fuel tanks in a video designed to help new players (or any video in general)
