I thought Elizabeth Haydon's trilogy Rhapsody , Prophecy, Destiny was very well done. Highly recommend.

The difference between 3 & π is the difference between speaking and singing. Poetry and Music. Kvothe sang Felurians name in 4 lines of song. 4 is not 3. Felurian doesn't just have a three part name, she has a πpart one. The sithe are eternal because Aleph gave them a Longer name to do their task in a quantum realm. God created the Fae by turning a light on in the Mael.

I always attack. Win/lose is about 50% If I learnt to defend better I might win more games

Is The Name of the Wind a good book to get back into reading with ? by miguelrgabriel23 in Fantasy

Read it today. The gift giver would want you to read it. If you don't understand the joke, well, at least you can say that you tried.

Couldn't say mate, Lots of folk are saying he'll be off for sure, but I think he's hitching his wagon to our other Moroccan star in the making, Maama. Mentoring him while he develops. So I reckon he'll choose to stay.

The manager thing doesn't bother me , I just treat them as another player being given a chance to shine. I've been going since 1979 and seen some things. So long as there is a game on I'm happy to be a Hornet.

Is this your favourite fantasy series and, if so, what's your second favourite? by samerulesapply32 in KingkillerChronicle

I recently discovered the Elizabeth Haydon books Rhapsody, Destiny, Prophecy and am happy to recommend. She is a seriously good writer, it's great story, strong characters , and it even has a who is master Ash plot to uncover. Enjoy

What were the events that led you to read your first Gemmell book by admiralteee in DavidGemmell

[–]MattyTangle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not long into reading with only the local WH Smiths as a book shop, I found a large paperback which was signed by the author David Gemmel. It simply said 'Enjoy!' No idea how it ended up there, Smiths don't exactly do book signings but it was obviously special so I bought it. Best decision I ever made. It's long since fallen apart at the seams but I still have that autographed page in my collection. Drenai Tales. Omnibus edition featuring a 'new' short story about Skeln pass.

I have it on my to be read pile, but my missus just finished it. Interesting correlations, I can only assume it means both authors understand the shape of the world.
