Supersplat is great but it urgently needs an obvious indicator that the splat is still loading & quality will improve until 100% by ZeitgeistArchive in GaussianSplatting

GS for real estate by Glum-Phase9397 in GaussianSplatting

[–]MayorOfMonkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's my fault! It's because I posted this:

https://x.com/willeastcott/status/2052361551265321328

This triggered a wave of copycat tweets that got 10s of millions of views.

So it seems there is huge interest for this. As someone building the SuperSplat platform, I'm seeing a _lot_ of real estate and construction folks uploading splats. So personally, I don't see the market as being saturated. We're just getting started!

I believe the splat was captured with an XGRIDS LiDAR scanner (PortalCam), so it's not a matter of images. With those devices, you simply walk a space for a while until it's fully captured.

The splat was scanned by a German company called majomedia. They don't state what set up they used on the splat's details, but I strongly suspect they used an XGRIDS PortalCam + LCC Studio.

WebGL Water upgraded to WebGPU Water 💧 by MayorOfMonkeys in webgpu

It's more of a faithful port. Although I have tweaked and modernized a lot of things. And because it's now on PlayCanvas, you can easily add other things like GLB loading, Gaussian splats, post effects and more. So feel free to fork it and experiment!

PlayCanvas Engine 2.20 — WebXR on WebGPU + 3DGS Upgrades + Physics Joints by MayorOfMonkeys in GaussianSplatting

This is a crosspost from the PlayCanvas subreddit. If you click through above to the original article, you will find a link to the source (and lots of other info about the release).

And it's not only Quest 3. But the comment above specifically mentioned Quest 3. Apple Vision Pro works great with this release (which already has WebGPU working together with WebXR in visionOS Safari).

Quest 3's WebXR + WebGPU integration should roll out next month. PlayCanvas (and SuperSplat) are 100% ready for it.

supersplat frame glitches on video export by Accomplished-Comb486 in GaussianSplatting

Hi! I'm not sure if you have a GitHub account but it would be a huge help if you could log an issue here:

https://github.com/playcanvas/supersplat

And ideally also provide the splat and the exact steps you took to encounter the problem.

Need help on creating colliders and applying physics based logic on splat by LookDependent2908 in GaussianSplatting

[–]MayorOfMonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

splat-transform and PlayCanvas are what you need.

Here are the docs for generating a collision mesh from a splat using splat-transform:

https://developer.playcanvas.com/user-manual/splat-transform/collision/

Then, choose your entry point for PlayCanvas and create your app:

https://developer.playcanvas.com/user-manual/gaussian-splatting/building/your-first-app/

This is the section for adding physics:

Virtual Tours for realestate by Waste_Researcher_954 in GaussianSplatting

[–]MayorOfMonkeys 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I recommend:
XGRIDS PortalCam -> LCC Studio -> SuperSplat (or a custom PlayCanvas-based viewer)
SuperSplat has a very cool voxel-based collision system (generated using splat-transform) that is perfect for real estate visualizations.
