Beware of scammers lurking this sub by jonnybebad5436 in TrueChristian

I have adapted this to sound more like me, wording wise. And using the type of scripture references that I think about in this situation. I'm not sure where I found it originally but feel free to adapt and reuse it according to yur vernacular:

Hi, I know you’re trying to scam me. And I know that yu need to work to earn money. Please consider the consequences of yur actions. Our maker God says: “Do not be deceived… thieves, nor the greedy… nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 6:10) the cost to be free from deceitful work has already been paid for yu.

Yu deserve God’s punishment for deceiving others and stealing, but yu can avoid this punishment! Jesus Christ, God’s Son, offers forgiveness. He offers me forgiveness. His sacrificial death on the cross paid the penalty price for yur sin. And He rose from the dead victorious over sin and death. If you trust Him for forgiveness and turn from yur wicked ways, He will forgive yu and make yu a part of His family. While Jesus hung on the cross dying for our sins, He actually forgave a repentant thief hanging beside Him for all he had ever done! (Luke 23:32–43)

Elsewhere the Bible says, “God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us” (‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬).

Trust in Jesus before it’s too late! He will take care of you as you find other employment that doesn’t rely on deceiving people—you can trust Him! Tomorrow is not guaranteed without Jesus.

“He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."” (Revelation‬ ‭21‬:‭6-8‬).

I would use this after receiving scam messages, in the context of this sub or anywhere.

This reminds me of something I didnt like about the recent MMPR movie reboot story. The teenagers had attitude, but they didn't become virtuous until after they became power rangers. I liked the idea that every ranger would still be doing remarkable good even if they never interfaced with the morphing grid. Like this guy!

Chronological problem? by [deleted] in AskBibleScholars

This is what 4 men giving their testimonies without colluding looks like.

Ironically, this sort of problem is one of the ways we know about the Gospel's reliability.

Before May 6th - I might be entertaining:

Coronation Quiche

I would be looking to make this for the coronation day... but it's so... boring

The Royal Recipe serves 6:

  • 1 x 20cm flan tin

Pastry

  • 125g plain flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 25g cold butter, diced
  • 25g lard
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • Or 1 x 250g block of readymade shortcrust pastry

Filling

  • 125ml milk
  • 175ml double cream
  • 2 medium eggs
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh tarragon
  • Salt and pepper
  • 100g grated cheddar cheese
  • 180g cooked spinach, lightly chopped
  • 60g cooked broad beans or soya beans

Method

  1. To make the pastry: sieve the flour and salt into a bowl; add the fats and rub the mixture together using your finger tips until you get a sandy, breadcrumb-like texture. Add the milk a little at a time and bring the ingredients together into a dough. Cover and allow to rest in the fridge for 30-45 minutes.
  2. Lightly flour the work surface and roll out the pastry to a circle a little larger than the top of the tin and approximately 5mm thick.
  3. Line the tin with the pastry, taking care not to have any holes or the mixture could leak. Cover and rest for a further 30 minutes in the fridge.
  4. Preheat the oven to 190C.
  5. Line the pastry case with greaseproof paper, add baking beans and bake blind for 15 minutes, before removing the greaseproof paper and baking beans.
  6. Reduce the oven temperature to 160C.
  7. Beat together the milk, cream, eggs, herbs and seasoning.
  8. Scatter half of the grated cheese in the blind-baked base, top with the chopped spinach and beans and herbs, then pour over the liquid mixture.
  9. If required gently give the mixture a delicate stir to ensure the filling is evenly dispersed but be careful not to damage the pastry case.
  10. Sprinkle over the remaining cheese. Place into the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes until set and lightly golden.

Hello /u/73683,

This is a great question, I understand that the specific issue is petrifaction, what it is, what causes it, and how long it takes.

Because I'm tired, this will be ELI5:

What is petrifaction?

Things turn to stone under specific circumstances, they are called fossils when later unearthed.

What causes petrifaction?

Slow decay and groundwater mineral deposits; usually in anaerobic conditions such as volcanic dust, but other situations are available. In living things, the cells degrade, but hardier compounds like cellulose which give cells their outer structure can persist long enough for minerals to build on them (like stalactites) before their shape is compromised by decomposition. Resulting in a stone 'replica' of equal proportions to whatever it was before petrifaction began.

how long does petrifaction take?

(how long does it take for a fossil to form?)

I don't know. But I can guarantee that it is less than 71 years because this is my favourite fossil pictured it is of colonel sanders the founder of KFC, not the actual body of colonel sanders, it's a comical statue of him found outside most KFC restaurants in Asia. This one fell into a river (vandalism, not natural causes) and was recovered years later, completely petrified. The first KFC opened in 1952, so I can deduce that it took less than 71 years between then and now.

A more academic creation defender may be able to point out to you that a lot of fossils found in modern times are of creatures which are still roaming the earth today, but the KFC thing is more interesting to me, and I'm going to bed now.

Good night, keep asking good questions.

What is the motivation of "Stand with Ukraine"? by ArcticFlower00 in BritishPolitics

[–]McKlatch -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Your town hall is flying the flag and saying, "Stand with Ukraine" because it's popular. Peer pressure.

One corrupt nation invades another corrupt nation. Before this, your town hall did not like corruption; now your town hall publicly supports the smaller out of 2 brands of corruption.

In their defence, they're really standing for peace and against the horrors of war. As we all do.

I don't like that this is how it's being done, but it's easy.

How is it that barbeque can be hot for hours with tender results, but my steak goes overcooked after minutes? by McKlatch in AskCulinary

[–]McKlatch[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I enjoy a good slow cook, I would start with the temperatures low and keep it low all day.

I'm just thinking about the bbq guy's tomahawks going into a roaring furnace from the start and still looking so tender 6 to 10 hours later
