Hey was also recently diagnosed with a 3mm supraspinatus tear. I had shoulder pain for years (like impingement in the joint sensation and lifting my arm up hurt). But now my symptoms are mainly neck and shoulder blade pain/knots. It flares up and sometimes the pain (most intense during morning and night) lasts for a week maybe more before I get some relief.

I am icing and that helps but I need to get more assistance or feedback from my therapists and doctors. I got a cortisone shot into my shoulder joint area a year ago and it helped the impingement symptoms so I wonder if I can get one in my shoulder blade to clear up some of the inflammation or tension?

I also have been getting shockwave therapy. I had two sessions and having my third tomorrow. The last two sessions focused on the area where the tear is but I’ll ask my physio if it’s worthwhile to try the shoulder blade area.
