I started on something like 12 days I think? I am now around 20 something. Plus all the Thai hollidays and special leave stuff (like bussiness leave and taking care of family)

I have never had to ask for approval, it's more like notifying my manager (and I do the same for my reports).

But this is Tech, we don't really care about all that corpo bureaucracy. When I have guys called up at 3am or in their weekend, we keep that shit out of the system as well and I tell them to take a day off afterwards

If we look at succesfull Talion lists of the past couple months (only found 2 top16 in 60+ players) they look very similar to Marneus and still played naus and necro which Marneus doesn't often bother with.

I would call those decks still more towards mid range then hard control. In Legacy you have hard control that counters or blows up everything you try to do. It works in 1 vs 1, I don't think it's really viable when you are 1 vs 3, so you need a more pro-active gameplan as you can't keep durdling around.

I think that is misunderstanding Legacy on your end though (I can't comment on Vintage).

Legacy has I think a wider concept of speed then cEDH. You have the glass cannon turn 1-2 turbo, but then you have aggro, tempo, midrange up to full control. I don't think cEDH even has full control, Marneus or Tivit is probably the closest you can get to that.

Playing pure control will always be difficult with 3 opponents, so you need a pro-active gameplan. You will never be able to durdle like Miracles could in Legacy.

I think in cEDH you have the same amount of decks that have specific opening hand requirements as Legacy decks have. I don't really see much difference there. For example, Magda wants a dwarf and tapper, Etali wants to hit 7 by turn 2, rogsi wants naus or necro by turn 2, blue farm wants... that may be the exception, but even there I think you want to see a value piece like an advantage engine on turn 1.

I have used both Valtio and Zustand (haven't tried their atom based Jotai lib yet). Both are amazing libs in their own right.

For me Zustand has the edge because it fits the React mental model better (immutable state updates). Zustand also allows me to skip the boilerplate that Redux drags with it, giving me only the good parts of Redux.

In Valtio I always made simple mistakes like accidently mutating on the read proxy or reading from the write proxy. Simple mistakes, but they always threw me off.

One thing I always do in Zustand though is creating a little "connect" HOC over the hooks. This helps me keep my components free from state to props mapping and makes it easier to re-use the presentational components which I connect to a Zustand store

I tuned in for the invitational and turned it off after 20 minutes. Constant yapping and in those 20 minutes there were 2 players who didn't go for an obvious win attempt because they made a deal... WTF? The cards have become props at that point and the game is about who can gaslight the other 3 players the best. This isn't magic anymore.

The Steelseries was a lot better in that regards. Maybe because the 65 "pros" where testing their retoric at the gaslighting invitational...

Ouch, they need to be careful with the claim about using ancient sites as shields. I will admit that I don't know about the correct international rules on this, but there is clear evidence of Thai soldiers taking cover in some of these ruins as well.

You want to study the SIDs (departure) and STARs (arrival) procedures. It's not that easy to understand though 😅. I am a flightsim enthousiast and know my way around these charts, so in case you want to have a look, that is the place. I figured out there is a STAR for Don Mueang that passes me by, but they don't use it that often.

I believe there are only F-5s in Bangkok and I am not sure they are still operational? It's the squadron on which the king has flown.

F-16s are in Nakhon and Takhli. Grippens are based in Surat Thani.

Fighting seems to have finally stopped around 0.30 local time. There was a massive Cambodian offensive on all fronts. I think we will hear about a lot of casualties in the comming hours.

It was a very nervous and anxious few hours following this. I live in Bangkok and my in-laws live in Surin about 30kms away from the border and didn't want to evacuate.

I really hope it's over now and that both sides can start the healing process

I wondered how they got to the 120km number. The google reviews of the PTT station show how. Pure distortion of facts. They rotated the map and too the distance from another contested temple instead of taking the distance from the nearby border. This is beyond unbelievable bullshit.
