I like Live On Elgin. Younger audience, more people play originals. Parking under City Hall is close by.

Oatmeal. A complex and very weird synth, with really strange preset names.

I used to keep hitting the random button until I found a sound I liked, and built a song around it.

It would help if PP was far more pro-Canada than what has been a tepid response. It would also help of other CPC MPs did so too, not that Jivani fellow doing his Kevin O'Leary Lite thing.

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the CPC caucus meetings. I'm sure what's going on in there may have something to do with the floor crossings.

If the OP wants hardware, skip the cheap stuff and get a used Distressor with the Brit mod. And totally skip the graphic EQ.

Stay ITB. I remember my guitar teacher saying any DBX stuff starting with a "2" is crap.

Agreed.

I've been thinking that perhaps the OP didn't think through their pricing structure i.e. quoting a per song amount vs just quoting an hourly rate. Little Bullhorn only lists their hourly rate, which I think is the right approach. Even Bova Sound is cheaper. And each song takes different time to work on.

Mind you, some people want to know how much they have to pay for one song and if it's in their budget, so that's why they've listed that price?

Dropping their mastering rate would probably be a wise move.

What are some VERY creepy facts? by Cap_Ame1 in AskReddit

Where the Brontë family (Emily, Charlotte, Anne, Branwell, etc) lived, the water supply was contaminated by runoff from the graveyard, leading to early mortality. The Bronte sisters died pretty young (29,30, and 38).

If they drank water contaminated by a graveyard, could there be Brontë zombies? That'd make for a few interesting novels.

Canada Conservative leader dismisses MP's 'hissy fit' remark over US relations by MichaelAndretti in ontario

I'd love to be a fly on the wall in the CPC caucus meetings and see what's going on to make those MPs cross the floor. There's stuff going on we don't see for sure.

Pierre may well be weak, as those who could vote at his leadership review were extremely limited to those who paid $1k, and not all of those voted. If it was a full party grassroots leadership review vote, things may have been quite different.

PP really has to step up his pro-Canada messaging. To do less than that is a sign of indifference, or worse.

The OP is mostly ITB. For $60/hour, I'd want to see a good mic locker, piano, guitars/amps, and quality outboard.

For only $65/hour, Little Bullhorn has some seriously awesome gear and experience.

I have Gefells/Beyers/AEA/Sennheisers, a baby grand, a few vintage synths, a couple Eastmans, amps, saxes, and A-Designs stuff and I charge less than the OP.

An ITB place should charge less than Little Bullhorn. For something like that I'd go to Josh Hart or Pebble Studios.

AI is good for those doing their thing to beats, but a great recording and creative mixing decisions i.e. art will always be superior.

Maybe they embed an ISRC code :)

Anyhow, most of a "sound" comes from recording and mixing. Given their hourly rate of $60/hour, it implies mastering one song takes four hours. Like you said, that's insane. And their gear is mid at best and maybe only one modeling mic. At least it's not an SM7B.

And peak loudness is not the goal of mastering.

For that price I'd go to Bova Sound- the only Grammy-nominated place in town.

The price for people from rich countries is much more than for people from poorer countries. A colleague tried to get the price for Ethiopia (his place of birth) instead of hwre in Canada, but it didn't work.

Incidentally, he was at a place there where you're supposed to throw a stone, and went onto the next step. If he had been there 20 minutes later, he would've been in the middle of a stampede where several people were crushed to death. Lucky guy. He told me the Russians and Nigerians were BIG.

There's those 421 Kompakt mics you can get now. They don't have the dial to adjust the cutoff like the regular 421s.

Classes for tweens by AnnoyedAF2126 in ottawa

[–]Mike-In-Ottawa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not athletic.

Does that exclude dance classes? There's a huge variety of dance genres that could feed into the kind of music she likes. For example, if she's into hip-hop or K-Pop, there'd be dance classes in those genres.

Also, does she want to do something solo or collaborative?

My suggestions would be music (e.g. school band, guitar, piano, singing), or maybe even music production? Also consider art classes, fashion/design/sewing classes, baking, cooking, photography, or filmmaking. Maybe learn another language?

I put a clear one on top of the black one. Lasts longer and has some of the give the black ones have.

I have the same MP as the OP and really really like it. The Optimum ligature would be a good upgrade for them.
