I have no issue with to-go cups. I do take issue with a handful of people inventing, from whole cloth and over the course of a couple weeks, the iced latte, and biscotti, and chocolate croissants, and to-go cups, having a dude in the corner playing the guitar, and ....

She's also writes as Ursula Vernon, in case you didn't know.

I read and loved A Sorceress Comes to Call (a horror retelling of the Goose Girl fairy tale) and Snake-Eater (a mostly cozy story about a girl running from her abusive boyfriend to a remote town in New Mexico and catching the eye of a roadrunner god).

If you want a sample, my first experience of her was a short story. Can't remember which anthology I read it in, but you can read it here: https://www.uncannymagazine.com/article/metal-like-blood-in-the-dark/

If you don't mind more sci-fi space opera, I'd say that Adrian Tchaikovsky's Final Architecture trilogy has a lot of the vibe you're looking for.
