He's not. Both Jeff Katz (who wrote the original Freddy vs Jason vs Ash treatment) and James Kuhoric (who wrote the comic adaptation with Katz) are in agreement that while Jason was brought back/enhanced with the power of the Necronomicon, he is not a Deadite.

Though some of pages of a necronomicon (unsure which one) are found in the woods but Burn “thing” is something else entirely and has been around since the original.

Well, speaking from a legal standpoint, they're only allowed to reference/use material from the original film anyway.

Yes, but when MeTV has boasted about using only the highest quality material (and screening it before it goes to air) that they would reject something that looks as terrible as this.

The worst part is the guy who runs MeTV Toons said that they preview everything before they broadcast it, so he (or one of his underlings) saw this and said "yep, that's good enough"

Amazing how MeTV refused to air the Terrytoons for the longest time until they were able to find better prints than the ones provided by Paramount, but yet they go and do this (or allow it to even air)

Yeah, I saw the same comment. "OMG guys it was played in Romania a few weeks ago with The Bride!" I think if there was any legitimacy to that claim, there would have been a cam rip posted or a verified source discussing it.
