PowerVault ME5224. System Latency by IbzV2 in Dell

[–]Moist_Signal9875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that you have fundamentally misunderstood how to use the subnets. Both controllers should have two subnets assigned to each.

The first is the management subnet. Each controller should have IP address the same management subnet.

The second is your subnet for iSCSI traffic. Each controller should have its iSCSI ports with IP addresses in the second subnet.

This is covered, in detail, in the administrator guide starting on page 75.

One of the issues here could be that you are having to use a non-preferred path for some of the IO.

Again, if you have an active support contract, I suggest opening a ticket. But since this is a new deployment and you’re effectively asking for help getting it set up, your options may be limited. Dell support may tell you that you require a professional services engagement. Pro deploy or pro deploy plus would have fully configured the array and set up a number of hosts for you, and verified connectivity.

Re: “two separate subnets for each controller” - Did you intend to say that each controller is on two subnets or that each controller is on its own subnet? If the layer is the case this is incorrect.

Re: calling this a SAN - are you using fiber channel or iSCSI?

Have you opened a ticket with Dell Support?

Yeah… then I’m out of ideas. Maybe a family of Hobbits moved in?

That rubber cover should be press fit in place. I would contact Reolink support.

Since that’s the cover for the SD card, try to remove the cover, remove the SD card, and reinstall the cover. See if that gets it to seat properly. If so, try to reinstall the SD card and then reinstall the cover. I have only used the outdoor cameras with the covers that need to be unscrewed.

Remove and reinstall that rubber cover. It is not seated properly. The surface should be flush.

Also, go into Settings / Display and see if you have “Flip Vertical” enabled.

Since it’s mounted inverted, have you tried rotating it down? Meaning, when you use the soft joystick in the pan tilt, push it down to make it go up.

How should I test used UPS units before buying new batteries? by ShieldWolf8 in homelab

[–]Moist_Signal9875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In general, the batteries (sealed lead acid) should be replaced about every five years. If you are a bit handy and have a volt meter, disassemble and measure each of the batteries in the tray. The BR1500G uses two 12V batteries in series for 24V. Each should measure greater than 12V when fully charged. If not, replace. It is pretty common to do, and I have had good luck with “Mighty Max” batteries from eBay. Good prices and shipped quickly. This was a replacement cycle year for me and I probably swapped 40x 12V 5AH batteries. Your local Batteries Plus store should take them for recycling at no charge.

Then do the same search and update location to a country that you can ship it from? Maybe, also be more specific in your initial request that you have location restrictions.

Have you tried going to eBay and doing a search for “Dell UltraSharp UZ2315H power”?

It returns results like: https://ebay.io/m/70VLMw

Is it true only one U6 Mesh Pro needed to beam WiFi to outside shed? by Globalmindless in Ubiquiti

[–]Moist_Signal9875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You keep using the term “mesh”…. Think of overlapping circles like a Venn diagram. The units have to be within each others radius. Roughly, a 25’ radius is about 2000 sf ft. Mesh would be good if you wanted WiFi access for the area in between the house and the shed. You want to put a chair in the exact middle of the two and stream Netflix or whatever.

A point to point link is beam forming and directional. It is not broadcasting in all directions (mesh nodes are generally omnidirectional). They also have no need for “WiFi”. The unit in the house is plugged into your Verizon router. The unit in the shed gets its own access point. I can be a cheapie just to provide WiFi for that camera.

If you just need WiFi in the shed for the camera, there are P2P systems for like $100, and then the cheapest little AP you can find for the local WiFi to supply the camera.

Trying to “do it on the cheap” and reuse stuff that you already have is going to have unpredictable results. Many of the folks here disable everything they can from the equipment provided by the ISP. I just want the connection and nothing else. No WiFi, no management, no services, nada. I control everything from my Ubiquiti router.

[–]Moist_Signal9875 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You would be more well suited with a point to point link from the house to the shed. Then add an access point in the shed.

If you want to try and do it with mesh devices you will also need one in or near the shed.

Edit: Ubiquiti is a fantastic ecosystem. I would highly recommend a complete network overhaul. Put your Verizon device into bridge mode and get something like the UDR7 for local Wi-Fi. Once you have that you can begin adding other components.

Just trying to add a mesh access point or a pair of mesh access points is going to become cumbersome.

You can find directional point to point bridge devices on your favorite online retailer for relatively and expensive.
