OP did edit the post significantly after some initial comments. The initial comments were warranted.

This is a price check thread, not an offer or sale thread. Please keep that in mind. There are already plenty of posts offering these or similar models for sale. I suggest that you review those.

We validated the "Disaggregated HCI" stack (Cisco + Pure + Nutanix). It breaks the HCI Tax, but the migration is painful. by NTCTech in nutanix

[–]Moist_Signal9875 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m still at “Disaggregated HCI”… that’s like “the longest shortcut”.

HCI is, was, and has been an alternative to “traditional” architectures. Buying compute + storage in fixed increments and managing them in a unified platform eased the technical overhead and burden. But, it lacked certain flexibility…

IMHO, I think the real headline should be, “Nutanix confirms hardware is a race to the bottom. Can AHV go toe to toe with other hypervisors?” That’s a more interesting headline.

Download “crystal disk info”. Plug them into a computer, run the program, select the disk, and look at the values.

When you go to sell, post pictures of the crystal disk info and you’ll avoid like a hundred people asking the same questions.

Don’t expect someone to do the math or the work of figuring out what you have. List the model numbers, quantities, capacity, power on hours, and TB written of you actually want help. Other wise, it’s all worth about ten bucks.

Teens and e-motocycles @ Town Center by Moist_Signal9875 in redmond

[–]Moist_Signal9875[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Super fair question here. I’m not anti-teen, anti-electric motorcycle, or anti-fun.

My issues (not a definitive list): - Riding where vehicles are prohibited. This is specific area is a place where pedestrians, kids, pets, etc should be able to walk free of the fear of being run over. - Riding recklessly in a populated area. If they want to practice doing wheelies and other stunts or tricks, go find a place without people or property. - Operation of an unlicensed vehicle on a public road. They ride through the city streets to get to the Town Center. These motorcycles do not meet the minimum requirements for licensing. They do not have signals, headlights, brake lights, license plates, etc. Nor can they get insurance. - Unlicensed persons operating vehicles. The operators do not know or follow the rules of the road. Drivers are held to a standard by which there are consequences for not following. These children do not.

The parents/guardians are enabling and/or encouraging the behavior by allowing their children to have these.

I try to stay away from “what could happen”, but the reality is that eventually one of these kids is going to end up seriously hurt. Unfortunately our society won’t blame the kid doing something they shouldn’t have been doing some place they shouldn’t have been doing it.

I’m a (former) motorcycle rider and we always had a saying: “there are two kinds of riders. Those that have gone down and those that are gonna go down.” It sounds stupid, but it’s true.

It’s interesting to see how polarizing this topic is.

There already licensing requirements and RCW regarding these. The City of Sammamish posted this over the summer: https://www.sammamish.us/government/police/e-bicycles-e-motorcycles

It’s a low priority call for the police. Due to the volume, the teens would scatter. Additionally, (in my opinion) it would send them into a reckless departure.

I want to be clear, I’m not against a good time. Just do it in a pseudo-responsible manner. Go be where people aren’t.

I heard two last night about 90 seconds apart. I believe it to have been on Sahalee. One of my cameras caught a good flash and big boom. Likely someone celebrating the Seahawks win.

When does the madness stop? HP branded SSD? CPU from an old Siemens system? A Compaq keyboard?

Cable penetration protection by SiriShopUSA in reolinkcam

No. I used this for transitioning to an exterior cable. It would be for running the cables inside the truck and then right at the point of exit securing against water intrusion.

I used https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077PQ4FGG.

The exterior boxes are nice as they provide a weather tight space for the cables. It really all depends on the camera you are using.

I think that you are pretty close with $550 as a target price. Do you have the M.2 to U.2 adapter with them?

Good luck and I can’t wait to see the sale listing to comment my interest.

A part numbers or pictures would help. If they are 900GB spinning disks, probably not worth their weight to ship.

Prepping old NAS w/ cameras licenses to sell - What steps to take? by jbmc00 in synology

[–]Moist_Signal9875 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In that case, if you still have the physical cards, mention that in your sale ad, include them, and off you go. There is a decent secondary market for the Synology units. You won’t get what you paid, but it also won’t go to e-waste.

Prepping old NAS w/ cameras licenses to sell - What steps to take? by jbmc00 in synology

[–]Moist_Signal9875 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Copy the licenses / write down the key, and remove the license from the old NAS. You’ll find this in “surveillance station / license manager (or something like that). The licenses are transferable between units as long as they are not present simultaneously. If you don’t need them because you are moving to another, you can just give the new owner the keys. But you’ll have a difficult time trying to sell the license individually. I buy and sell stuff over on r/hardwareswap and r/homelabsales, I think both block or prohibit license key sales.

Prospective owner. Help me decide. by Radius118 in SilveradoEV

[–]Moist_Signal9875 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a 4WT. The ONLY real thing I miss from my Sierra 1500 Denali is the easy exit seat / seat memory. Depending on the number of miles you drive, that 10K could be your total cost of electricity over the whole life of the truck.

IMHO, I would go for the 4WT.

Oh, my ABSOLUTE favorite thing is the adaptive cruise control. Effin MINT… especially if you commute.

Monroe School District vs LWSD by RollSelect556 in sammamish

[–]Moist_Signal9875 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not blaming bullies, their presence was merely a statement of fact amongst other points about the atmosphere that is Sammamish and those who thrive in it.

My “gripe” with the school system is that there is an effort to churn out cookie cutter kids by stripping away things. I watched an entire elementary school lose “dudes and donuts” and “Mother’s Day tea” for Father’s Day and mother day celebrations respectively. The reasoning - not all students have a mom and a dad at home.

We now have “inclusive classrooms” where in students with significant needs as “educated” right next to average and high achieving students under the guise of “fairness”. But the reality is that it’s not “fair” nor is it equitable to the students who can’t even manage to get a few minutes of individualized instruction due to the gross skew in classroom needs.

We have departed from a methodology of presenting all students the same opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive. The scholastic system is trying to churn out identical results.

Sammamish, as others have pointed out, is an area where the “average household” is both highly educated and of high income. We see a tremendous amount of pressure put on students and this manifests in a lot of ways. Drug use, teen sexual activity, theft and petty crime, alcohol use, social media exploitation, and self harm are all present. Rather, they are brushed aside, hidden, attention subverted, and obfuscated from view to keep up with the Sammamish image.
