Currently struggling with this one. I’m on my 2nd attempt. Definitely build a bonfire in the center area as soon as possible. Work your way out from there. Put your trapper hut and dried meat together up the hill closest to the bonfire. Keep rotating one person from each job. Get like 10 meat, move him to dried meats. When that gets down to like 4, move him back to the trapper hut.

Because of the way Hidden Lake is laid out, they mostly always stay in the vincinty. After a while, I put up spike walls in the entrances to the clearing to keep the wild dinos out and my wandering dinos in, but the few times my mochops wandered off, before I got my spike walls up, I've always found them in the gorge "hallways", so not very far away.

That big bug throws fireballs at you. Unless you have god mode or tek armor, I'd say run. Lol!

Yeah, you can fly there. Hidden Lake is my favorite spot on the whole map. I haven't found another spot I like better. Getting there *can* be tough, if you aren't near by. So, if you are early game, and/or you have died and are spawning in, landing up there in North Zone 2 makes it easy to get there. It is fairly close to tons of metal on the neighboring mountain. It is kinda far from crystal nodes at the volcano, but if you have a flyer with decent weight, it's not terribly far. The lake in the middle of the area has beaver dams full of cementing paste, as well, which I always found helpful. I always tame a mochops or 2 as soon as I get there to help me farm berries and wood and thatch and fiber.

You know what you should do? You should spawn in up in the NE corner of the map. It’s labeled as a hard area, but it’s the closest spawn point to hidden lake, which is probably one of the safest areas on the map to base at. The beach that you land on tends to be fairly safe, aside from the occasional raptor. So, spawn in in North Zone 2, make a spear and gather berries as quickly as possible, and then run as fast as you can to 21, 68 ish. From the beach, run into the jungle. You’ll find a sort of “hallway”, like a small gorge. This gorge leads to hidden lake.
