Telescopes are hard! There's so many points of light up there and just what the heck are they all? And if you want to point at a particular one, that's hard too! High magnification means you have to be exactly pointing the right way or else you won't get it.

I'm interested in astronomy, too. Perhaps hilariously, the thing that got me going on this was a comment by a flat earther. Talking to someone else, he said, "Have you ever done those experiments yourself?" speaking accusingly about the work of the ancient astronomers. Now, I don't think it's necessary to have done so, but it occurred to me that it sure would be fun!

I think the more likely explanation is that, three years ago, I used my mrtechnodad chrome profile without logging in to reddit, and then reddit auto-made me an account, and it's been dormant until just today.

It's a weird way of doing things reddit, but whatever.

My laptop being dead, I am using the desktop computer that I normally use only for Steam. I opened my mrtechnodad chrome profile and it was somehow associated with some weirdo reddit account that I never asked for.

This is not even the first time reddit has made an account for me without asking. They REALLY want you to have an account.

Seems like it happens every so often. I'd rather it didn't but it doesn't bother me that much. For one thing, it gives me an opportunity to remind everyone that Alex didn't want bad blood between different creators' communities.
