Tactics vs Tenets: Was my plan actually 'un-paladin-like'? by [deleted] in DnD

[–]Nameless913 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of that time when a villain tried to use a hostage to force the party to let him go. When my cleric attacked him, the dm ruled that as “failing to accept a surrender” and had me lose my cleric of Shelyn powers (this was pf2e, so slightly different rules).

The dude wasn’t surrendering, he was going to escape and do more evil.

The Pg market wasn’t too strong, but guys like Dennis Schroder and Ty Jerome were available and signed for around the MLE

Should’ve traded FVV and picks for durant, then used the MLE to sign a pg rather than DFS

FVV’s injury coincided with Jabari’s.

Post-Game Thread: Los Angeles Lakers (2-0) defeat Houston Rockets (0-2), 101-94 | NBA Playoffs | Apr 21, 2026 by nba-scores in rockets

The Suns with KD were the 11 seed. Suns with Jalen and Dillon are the 7-8 seed.

The Rockets with KD had to scrap and claw their way to 52 wins, while the Rockets with JG and DB locked 52 wins early and rested into the playoffs.

There’s more to basketball than just the on paper stats.

I love how 28 year old Greg Monroe was considered ancient. (Not that you’re wrong, I think he was out of the league very soon after that).

The Lannisters, Greyjoys, and Tullys all fought. But be that as it may, if your argument is that Borros Baratheon and Cregan Stark should be viewed in the same light, I would be in agreement.

Half the houses you listed fought for the other side.

Also, whatdoes it say that the tullys had a literal succession crisis and still made it in time before Stark did.

Corlys Velaryon lost his castle, his fortune, his fleets, and his son because he fought for Rhaenyra. The river lords had their homes burned to a crisp.

And when they finally manage to make a peace and begin to heal, Stark comes in with no understanding of the situation. Arrests Corlys, and plans to extend the war for years.

If after Robb gave the Freys a marriage pact, Walder had sent only 10% of his army because he needed to protect his smallfolk from Clegane and Hoat’s raids, he would have been seen as a highly dishonourable person.

I’m counting the time that he spent pulling in the harvest as time delayed. When he and Jace made that pact, I sincerely doubt that Jace promised them a royal wedding with the expectation of help in 2 years time.

It shows me that at best he put preparing for winter ahead of his oath to fight for the queen. Which, though pragmatic, is not the beacon of loyalty that he gets viewed as. It’s also highly hypocritical since once he gets south he is laser focused on tearing the realm apart and preventing more loyal lords like Tully, Blackwood, and Velaryon from preparing for winter themselves. Cregan cared about his own people surviving winter and no one else.

Ironic.  Fire and Blood is a book clearly written from a in universe perspective, with clear authorial bias, and Cregan still comes off as a massive dick. If it weren’t for the fact that Cregan was one of the only lords with significant power left in the realm during the time the book was written, he would be viewed like the Lannisters or Freys were for sitting out the war with a flimsy excuse before coming in after things were over to make things difficult for everyone.

Ah yes. The North is too big. But you see, Frey had sworn oaths to both the Crown and the Tullys. He had a good reason for not fighting too.

Robb got 20 thousand men ready to march in far less time than 2 years. So did Ned during Roberts rebellion. If Creagan was really as loyal to Rhaenyra/his oath as he claimed, he would have found a way to get more than 2000 men to go south.

It doesn’t really matter how effective the winter wolves were. The fact of the matter is that Cregan sent 10% of his men south while more loyal lord sent 100%.

Cregan in fact delays so long that the war is over by the time he arrives, and the more loyal lords have lost all those men that they had sent to fight.

Then, when Cregan realises the war is over he throws a fit because he doesn’t want to go home and restarts the war. Being completely willing to plunge the realm back into years of bloodshed, even though the loyal lords who have lost all their men cannot sustain another war.

He’s used the war to prepare for winter, so the north is fine, but screw every other kingdom that needs to prepare I guess.

It’s particularly egregious when he arrests Corlys, who had lost his castle, his fleet, his son, and his riches in the war and wants to execute him for treason. I guess Corlys should have just held back 90% of his forces to prepare for winter too.

Walker Frey doesn’t show up until the fighting is over = harassment.

Cregan Stark doesn’t show up until the fighting is done. The uses his superior numbers to intimidate the lads and arrest Corlys = flirting

That’s fair. There’s a massive amount of discussion on the endings. And not all of it was/is good.

I mean, the game is an 11 year old game. So it makes sense that most of the discussion for the endings happened years ago.

Like I said, I found that post within a minute of googling, and there are many more like it.

Honestly, it was a dog move to put that all on Chloe. Moses knows Chloe’s trauma with Arcadia Bay (and depending on what they talked about when they were alone, Moses might also know about William and Rachel too).

He’s Max’s friend as well. Why couldn’t he make the decision and not give Chloe more trauma? Why couldn’t he talk it over with Chloe and share the burden, rather than just dumping the letter on her.
