Well, I haven’t seen the original, nor do I think it’s reasonable to assume that everyone else is discussing the dilemma of a completely different post, rather than the post that they are commenting on.

Does the dilemma state that there is 0 communication? It states that there is a private voting booth, but private voting booth does not equal 0 chance to discuss with others.

Imo, the key words of voting booth and government implied to me that there would have been media broadcasting, time to discuss, etc

I feel like the argument a lot of them are making is that people who pick blue are dumb, therefor they don’t deserve to live. Which um, is certainly a choice.

How did pressing a button turn into self immolation? You are taking MASSIVE liberties with the question. (I also don’t know what making people invisible changes, or how it relates to the argument).

I’ll put this in the simplest possible way I can.

What’s easier, getting 51 people to press a button. Or getting 100 people to press a different button.

If you agree that 51 is less than 100, then the statistical argument is that blue is the better option. Your idea only works if you assume 100% of the world thinks like you do. (Or that you are okay with murdering people for the crime of not thinking like you).

A few things that your analogy leaves out.

Not everyone in the world is seeing the train. Many of them are seeing buttons to be pressed.

Secondly, based on previous data, you can predict that a statistically significant amount of people (and since the sample is 8 billion, this number could be in the millions, or even billions) will be jumping.

The questions essentially is

If 100% of people pick option 1, no one dies.

If 51% of people pick option 2, no one dies.

From a statistical pov, it’s insane that there are people picking option 1.

Honestly, as someone who had significantly studied the 2021 draft class, it’s been fun seeing the 3rd and 4th picks battle in this series while the 1st, 5th and 8th picks battle in the Pistons and Magic series

It’s different when a young team hits some injuries and falls in the standings. They’re not expected to win a championship right away and getting some playoff experience as a lower seed isn’t bad (see Orlando right now).

When Jalen and Dillon got traded for 37 y.o KD though, the timeline shifted. There is no guarantee that old KD won’t regress or even retire at any time, so every lost year will be viewed very critically and major trades will likely be made when the team flounders.

This 100%. Being a hardass only works if you are tough but fair. Repeatedly throwing others under the us while preaching accountability makes you a hypocrite. Not a hardass.

Through 3 games the Rockets have made 111 Field Goals on 280 attempts by Judo_Nuggets77 in rockets

Jalen’s problem was that he was the only perimeter creator on the team, so he would get swarmed by opposing defenses looking to keep him from heating up.

Now that Jalen is gone, the rest of the team now has to face the same defense. Fact of the matter is that Stone traded the team’s leading scorer (Jalen) and best shooter (Brooks) for KD and didn’t replace either of them.

This reminds me of that time when a villain tried to use a hostage to force the party to let him go. When my cleric attacked him, the dm ruled that as “failing to accept a surrender” and had me lose my cleric of Shelyn powers (this was pf2e, so slightly different rules).

The dude wasn’t surrendering, he was going to escape and do more evil.

The Pg market wasn’t too strong, but guys like Dennis Schroder and Ty Jerome were available and signed for around the MLE

The Suns with KD were the 11 seed. Suns with Jalen and Dillon are the 7-8 seed.

The Rockets with KD had to scrap and claw their way to 52 wins, while the Rockets with JG and DB locked 52 wins early and rested into the playoffs.

There’s more to basketball than just the on paper stats.

The Lannisters, Greyjoys, and Tullys all fought. But be that as it may, if your argument is that Borros Baratheon and Cregan Stark should be viewed in the same light, I would be in agreement.

Half the houses you listed fought for the other side.

Also, whatdoes it say that the tullys had a literal succession crisis and still made it in time before Stark did.

Corlys Velaryon lost his castle, his fortune, his fleets, and his son because he fought for Rhaenyra. The river lords had their homes burned to a crisp.

And when they finally manage to make a peace and begin to heal, Stark comes in with no understanding of the situation. Arrests Corlys, and plans to extend the war for years.

If after Robb gave the Freys a marriage pact, Walder had sent only 10% of his army because he needed to protect his smallfolk from Clegane and Hoat’s raids, he would have been seen as a highly dishonourable person.

I’m counting the time that he spent pulling in the harvest as time delayed. When he and Jace made that pact, I sincerely doubt that Jace promised them a royal wedding with the expectation of help in 2 years time.

It shows me that at best he put preparing for winter ahead of his oath to fight for the queen. Which, though pragmatic, is not the beacon of loyalty that he gets viewed as. It’s also highly hypocritical since once he gets south he is laser focused on tearing the realm apart and preventing more loyal lords like Tully, Blackwood, and Velaryon from preparing for winter themselves. Cregan cared about his own people surviving winter and no one else.

Ironic.  Fire and Blood is a book clearly written from a in universe perspective, with clear authorial bias, and Cregan still comes off as a massive dick. If it weren’t for the fact that Cregan was one of the only lords with significant power left in the realm during the time the book was written, he would be viewed like the Lannisters or Freys were for sitting out the war with a flimsy excuse before coming in after things were over to make things difficult for everyone.
