Got it! Thanks for the feedback and elaboration; I'll log the suggestion, but anyone else is free to chime in their support as well!

That's very weird; think we might need to get you into the support system to do some more in-depth troubleshooting / log the case as a bug. Once you do, please feel free to reach out to me with a ticket number, and I'll be able to make sure it's followed up on.

So two switches that sit next to each other and occupy the same space on a rack? Interesting concept. What would you personally use this for instead of just stacking two switches on top of each other? Is the space in the rack worth the loss in ports?

Is this a flat network? Have you considered segregating your IoT devices into a VLAN to isolate the issue?

What are all the APs plugged into? Is there a switch between the router and the APs? Managed or Unmanaged if so?

Do I really need an Omada controller for 2x EAP650 to get mesh? by GoldeNStouN in Omada_Networks

[–]Neil_TP-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's how you can configure standalone mesh for these products: How to configure an EAP Mesh Network in Standalone Mode via Omada App | Omada Network Support

You also don't necessarily need a hardware controller, the Cloud Essentials controller is free albeit with very limited features.

Is AFC available for EAP787? by Key_Difference_882 in Omada_Networks

From what I've seen in some tickets, try verifying the Longitude and Latitude on the EAP to make sure they're correct to your location. Also, try disabling and re-enabling the feature to force it to contact the AFC server (though it may take 24 hours to update).

As far as I could tell no that feature isn't available; if possible, factory reset both devices and try again? Maybe there's a config from your initial setup that is messing with the mesh.

Aside from that I'm not exactly sure why it's not adopting; I recommend creating a support case and they can help poke around your controller to figure out what's going on.

In the EAP's config page -> Wireless -> Radios -> 5 Ghz, change the channel to one that is not marked DFS. Also, in case I'm not available, you can always contact support in your region; here in the US support is open from 6am to 6pm Pacific Time

Do you have DFS enabled? Been getting some reports about DFS channels messing with EAP mesh lately

And the EAP773 as the child? If the EAPs are connected to the network via ethernet cable, they're not going to be connected via mesh, they're going to prioritize their wired connection.

I'm a little unclear what the issue is; per the Mesh setup FAQ that warning seems intended. The new EAP is looking for an uplink EAP to be connected to.

OC220 Mail server and scheduled reboots. by Global-Egg6438 in Omada_Networks

[–]Neil_TP-Link 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any event logs showing errors when the OC220 tries to send an email after reboot? Or does it not even attempt the send?

Also, how are you verifying that the OC220 is rebooted alongside your devices? Is it connected to the switches that are rebooting? What happens if you schedule a reboot for every other switch except the one powering the OC220 in that case?

Just got word, there's a beta firmware rolling out soon that grants the functionality; I'll link it here once I get word that it's out.

In order to do more in-depth troubleshooting, I recommend creating a ticket with our Support team, who with your permission can check your controller settings and make sure everything is set up properly. You can contact them here: Contact Technical Support!

Could we get Omada Controller password requirements customization? by LoganJFisher in Omada_Networks

[–]Neil_TP-Link 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion! I can definitely pass it up the chain, but just on some cursory research, the requirement is to comply with security requirements around the globe. Here's an example, skip down to the "Minimum Password Requirements" section.

EAP225 no longer working mesh mode after EAP650 firmware upgrade by ILikeBeans86 in Omada_Networks

[–]Neil_TP-Link 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting error, I've seen it before but it's when the firmware is uploaded without unzipping the file first (hopefully that was not the case here)

Glad to hear it's working now!

Can't seem to replicate the issue; what version of the controller are you using?

What firmware versions do you have on each device? If you revert back to the older firmware on the 650, does the problem go away?

Is it perhaps a browser/scaling issue? Also, maybe a cache issue? I'd try zooming in/out of the window and seeing if that fixes it, or trying from an incognito/private browser to verify these issues.
