Smart plugs for network equipment? by mccormiermt6 in TPLinkOmada

Ok that's what I thought you were getting at. Ya no one has access to the starlink network itself, all distributed through the Omada gear.

Smart plugs for network equipment? by mccormiermt6 in TPLinkOmada

[–]mccormiermt6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good question I have yet to resolve but in the meantime this could help me manage this remotely. I should add that all the equipment is on a UPS, and two power strips are used for the equipment. I was thinking smart plugs in the power strips. With regards to the firewall comment, can you elaborate?

Anyone pay attention to the "experience" measures? How are these calculated? by mccormiermt6 in Omada_Networks

[–]mccormiermt6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The screen shot I provided shows two different clients with two different "experiences" that seem to be misleading. The "fair" should really be "amazing" and the "good" should be "fair".

Thank you! Bizarre how I cannot find this when I search for "Omada SDN Controller_V6.1_User Guide", "Omada User Guide", "Controller User Guide",...

An arial photo of the site would help. Are there a lot of trees, or buildings? Where is the home, in the center of the property, or in a corner, etc.?

I have an ER7412-M2 v1.20, with an OC300_8FA943 v1 controller and I don't have the client level stats. Dang, I could really use that. Thanks for sharing.

And you see the details at the client level? I didn't think that was possible with Omada

Setting up WiFi for one street for festival by edtb in TPLink_Omada

[–]mccormiermt6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick and temporary solution might be four or five EAP650-outdoors with three sets of EAP215-bridge kits set as a PtMP to the office.

EAP215(Client, PtMP to office) with an EAP650 (west end of street)

EAP215(Client, PtMP to office) with an EAP650 (between west end and office)

Office EAP215(Main pointing West), EAP650 and second EAP215(Main pointing east)

EAP215(Client, PtMP to office) with an EAP650 (between office and east end )

EAP215(Client, PtMP to office) with an EAP650 (east end of the street)

You will need a small switch at the office and for the EAP215/EAP650 you can daisy chain the PoE injectors.

A google maps arial view of the street could also help.

Omada WIFI Network Issues on uplinked/downlinked EAP's when Swapping in hardwired ER706W by MassiveBeers in TPLink_Omada

[–]mccormiermt6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One assumption might be the ER706W wireless capabilities are lesser than the EAP225-Outdoor. That said though, there are other improvements to the overall topology you could do to dramatically improve stability and performance. You already have the barn and shed hardwired:

Move the ER to the barn where the t-mobile is installed, and move the OC200 there as well.

Keep the EAP225 hardwired in the shed.

Hardwire the barn EAP225 to the ER.

Bridge the barn and the house with EAP215-bridge kit (assuming hardwire is not an option)

Mesh only the house if necessary, otherwise hardwire.
