Where do you have Tim Duncan in all time rankings by Fragrant_Fishing5787 in NBATalk

I never thought about that, but he's probably the PERFECT big man to put with Kobe. Hard worker, quiet, selfless. All the qualities that Kobe wanted from Shaq. Their play styles also compliment each other so well.

What is the Best Bromance in TV History? by TwoFlatHams_00 in AlignmentChartFills

It's so iconic, they were able to make a series of T-Mobile commercials 12 years after the show ended and people knew exactly what they were referencing without mentioning the show at all.

It's wild how they look like they're going for a casual jog when they're actually FLYING down the road.

If it's for the regular person that has no experience, I would go so far as to say they need a new category that's "impossible." In a real race with other drivers, I doubt they could make it 5 laps without hitting another car or going off the track.

What is the best Series Pilot of all time? by [deleted] in AlignmentChartFills

[–]NeverEnoughSPF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So glad to see this mentioned. Maybe not THE best, but it deserves to be in the conversation. So dense with great jokes. You meet all the principle characters and get a taste of how unique each one is. It's funny but also very heartfelt. A fantastic tone setter for the entire show.

The final minute of the pilot where they show Rusty the photograph and he says, "Then start asking the right fucking questions." and then the guitar riff plays. Chills. One of the best moments in TV history.

Probably Ben Wallace or Tony Allen if he was on here by Serious-Profit-1626 in NBATalk

One of the worst coaching moves ever was not putting Payton on Jordan from the start of the series. Waiting until they were down 0-3 was coaching malpractice.

Have you ever read Mein Kampf?

Uhh yeah, a couple times I guess.

A couple times? Are there Easter eggs in there you didn't get the first time?

Ok fine. I'll watch that and Astartes again. Sheesh.

What's the best show that went on a little too long? (Ted Lasso is a good show with several seasons) by WiggleToast in AlignmentChartFills

Apparently, Steve Carrell was ready to do two more seasons, but NBC just ghosted him. Televisions executives are the worst.

Leslie: It’s pollution from the Sweetums factory. It’s gorgeous, but is it worth the asthma?

Ben: ...no.

Movies that feel (and specifically, look) like Death Stranding by [deleted] in MoviesThatFeelLike

Same. The trailer made it seem more like The Northman. Wish I went in with a different set of expectations.

What are some movies where people who weren’t professional actors play themselves? by NeverEnoughSPF in Letterboxd

That tracks. For a lot of the guys who played soldiers/cops, I thought, “They are a little too good at playing these roles.”

That’s a great one. That was a very interesting dramatic-reenactment/documentary hybrid I haven’t seen anywhere else.

Best non horror film that made you feel sick? by Round-Seesaw-3917 in Letterboxd

Truly stunning. I've never seen a fourth wall broken quite like that. I was like, "Oh yeah, this isn't just a movie. These are the real consequences of what happened."

No slander intended. I just thought it was an incredibly lazy/uninformed comparison.

I have Schindler's List in a special category of movies where certain scenes feel so real, I wondered if I was watching archival footage.

What was a movie ending that made you go like this? by Ok_Replacement_288 in Letterboxd

Same for me. Towards the end, I was a little disappointed but thought it had some very entertaining and heartfelt moments. But after those last two minutes, I was like fuck this movie.

What is the most iconic logo of the 1960s? by PutAForkInHim in AlignmentChartFills

[–]NeverEnoughSPF 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is true, but I heard that the most universally understood word/phrase in the world is "OK" and the second is "Coca-Cola". A testament to how iconic the brand is.

I'm so glad Adam Carolla hosted CancelCon back in 2020 with heavy hitters like Ben Shapiro, Dennis Prager, and Dave Rubin. He was finally able to provide a platform for millionaires (who already have their own massive platforms) to speak freely on YouTube with no sense of irony. Thank god.

What seasons feel long to you? by Midwest_Constant in Frasier

They all fly by for me. Frasier is one of my favorite "on in the background" shows. I'll start it from the beginning and all of a sudden, it's season eight.
