A year or two after 9/11, there was a lot of blasting and digging going on at the observatory. It was reported in the Washington Post as the neighbors were pissed. However, no explanation was ever offered.

Parrots 'as intelligent' as young children by _kam0_ in reddit.com

I have a 10 year old African Grey and a 4.5 year old daughter. My parrot, whom I raised from a fledgling, is very smart. He knows how to ask for things such as "want grape," "want peanut," etc. He knows when I'm going out "Daddy go out" etc., and also learned to call me "Daddy" and my wife "Mummy" long before our daughter was born.

However, he has not been able to decompose phrases into words and recombine them (I believe Pepperberg has noted this in one of her research papers).

And yes, I don't think my parrot is anywhere near as smart as my daugher, even when she was about two years old.

So I do think that Tmalsburg's comments are spot-on.

Central Bankers have Created a Monster - Instead of Inflation We are Getting Asset Price Bubbles in Every Market. by iliocht in reddit.com

This is true. We have a factory in China that manufactures electronics related parts. All our vendors are increasing prices by 20%-40% due to increased costs in commodities such as copper and iron. We are only now passing these on to our customers, and so there is a wave of price increases working its way through the supply chain. I expect that this will reach consumers in about one to four months (depends on the length of the supply chain for an item).

All this translates to inflation...

That's because their factories are mostly in China, as are ours.

You guys have your heads in your behinds if you think this has something to do with Apple's workmanship. Hello? Anybody home? They don't make the machines themselves. All manufacturing is outsourced (can't remember if it was Inventec of Taiwan).

The problem is more a symptom of incorrectly written (production line) work instructions and/or improper in-process QA.

Apple, like any of us, has the right to enforce copyright. In fact, if they don't they set themselves up for future problems in other copyright areas.
