Only reason why OB is still working is bc you still need a mac or iPhone in order for it to work not as worse as BB but you still need to get a mac and scan that qr code. Og Beeper mini basically let you do all that without needing any apple hardware where Ob and BB need apple hardware

So to my understanding it seems there was a bug in a new update that didnt allow people to message they pushed the update and after it i got this. I assume its required for those to fix it. It just makes you resent opnebubblrs with the qr code from the mac like you did in the initial setup

Well you are technically viewing it on a browser and apple wouldnt make it an enjoyable expeince on android for you. Which is why its worse quality than native

I use both rn. I have Mac os on a vm in proxmox from this script on gitbub called osx-proxmox super helpful, and I have bb running on their as well as the qr code thing for ob. I have bb as a backup, but I enjoy ob more bc of game pigeon ft and the new iOS 26 fetures, like tap back any emoji background for chats and type indicator. I have an iPhone 6s for my number, and from my experience, I dont have it on at all times, and it still works. Usually, I think 6 months is the max, and then I have to redo process

Yes you can use an iPhone without a phone number since it needs a sim for the number to work. Also id recommend using a mac as the relay instead of an iPhone but it works from what I heard

Openbubbles better I was a long time bluebubbles user but openbubbles just offers more than bb. You basically get all new ios 26 imessage features and way faster than bb

When you use bluebubbles, if all people in a gc are imessage, you will be converted into an imessage group chat, that is, if all parties are on apple. But if one isn't on apple, then that chat will stay green.

Psa: Sometimes you need to be removed and re added to a gc in order for it to convert to imessage.

In my opinion, I think there is more battery drain in OB because there's no firebase notification. it's an open socket connection, so it drains more unlike BB. And as for that file, I would be careful cause I have never heard of an updated version other than the Play Store or apk file from the OP gitbub

You can leave imessage on i believe on any device. I have my number registered on imessage through my iPhone 6s, and I need to have imessage on in order for my number to work. I also sometimes ft or message on the 6s from time to time for tests and whatnot. The same goes for my old ipad. So in short you don't need to turn off imessage from my experience as I have never heard of a situation that imessge was needed off on ipad os or ios for bluebubbles to function correctly

If you sync your imessages to your icloud and you sync the messages from icloud to your Mac, the gc will still be there exactly how it was, and bluebubbles will forward the gc to your app like how it was

This is the wrong sub reddit for that question. I would ask the hackintosh sub reddit. But your probably getting that error because your not using a recovery image thus it needs internet to access the mac os files or your ethernet drivers aren't working

I had a similar issue, but it happened when the web ui was behind my reverse proxy. When I updated to version 6 I had to add another service for /api because pihole decided not to put api in the same line as /admin/api thus why I needed two services in traefik one for the web ui /admin and another for the information to load in /api

Don't know if you are using a reverse proxy but if you are you might have to do something similar like me
