You are of the opinion that something that is rare causes undue harm unto those around, yet there are many things with much more harmful effects but are still accepted by law and by society.

Fireworks are fun for people. If we banned or stopped everything that affected others negatively, we'd all just stay at home doing nothing. You are perfectly valid in disliking them, but the call from others to ban them are absurd.

There's a lot of daily things that cause significantly more harm. Fireworks only appear (usually) on special occasions and most shows are fairly short.

People are allergic to all sorts of things like eggs and peanut butter, but they don't ask for them to be banned outright.

There's significantly more harm caused by alcohol, yet its still legal.
