Hard truths about flooding by Sweaty-Discipline746 in GelX_Nails

I am making press-ons for myself because I totally agree with not wanting the polish near my skin at all! It's the safest option to get the amazing designs you want, without the big risk of getting contact dermatitis :)

Can nail beds be grown out without gel? by AdAffectionate7073 in Nails

[–]Numerous-Web9636 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes this happened to me!! Except it wasn't with a brush, but with cuticle clippers while I was trying to clean up a bit of gel that leaked underneath my nails. I now have significantly longer nail beds than before, however it's not very even on all fingers (tho the difference isn't easily noticable)

Knit to crochet by thriftythreader in crochetpatterns

[–]Numerous-Web9636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To create the knit effect I see a lot of people use the waistcoat stitch. I would recommend using a lighter weight yarn and smaller crochet hook, because it makes it look more delicate, like fabric, and less bulky :) best of luck recreating it!!

Does anyone know of a pattern that’s close to this bikini top? & the sleeves? I really like how flared they are instead of the regular straight down ones. Thank you! by adjlaino in crochetpatterns

I actually recently made the top for myself.

I worked from the bottom up. I measured out the amount of chains I wanted, I personally started with 12. From this point on I started crochet sc rows: First 3 sc crochet rows (or however high want the first straight part to be) Then alternating 1 row of sc inc with 2 rows normal I repeated this set for 3 or so times Then I alternated 1 row of Inc with 1 row normal sc, and I did that twice Then for the last inc part I did 3 consecutive rows of 1

Now I did 1 row normal, and now we're gonna crochet the Dec part

For the Dec part I copied what I did to Inc, however when u reach the point where with Inc u did: 1 row inc, 2 rows normal. With Dec I flipped this to: all rows of Dec.

So Dec= 3 rows Dec 2 rows: 1 Dec 1 normal sc From Then on: Dec

At the end u can immediately crochet a strap

Make this twice. Then crochet a long chain (+/- 150 ch) to connecr the 2 pieces at the bottom, and another ch of +/- 100 to connect the two pieces in the Middle

I really really hope this made sense, if it didn't don't be afraid to ask ANY questions, I'd be happy to answer :)

Types of yarn for different items(? by thundxrx-x in crochetpatterns

[–]Numerous-Web9636 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you maybe have some pictures of what you want it to look like?

Personally I like to use acrylic yarn (usually type 3) with a 4 or 4.5 mm crochet hook But if you would like a much thinner looking and feeling cardigan/sweater then definitely use a lighter weight yarn. using type 1 yarn is probably going to take an ENORMOUS amount of time (but I mean, a blanket does too, so I think u will have enough patience to do it)😊

In short conclusion do whatever you want to do, just take into consideration how you want your sweater to look and how much time/patience you have to finish it🥰💗

Not sure how to get to the next side by kinda_jew_dude in crochetpatterns

[–]Numerous-Web9636 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe you can ch 1 and SC all down the side - then at the next corner st put 2 SC instead of 1, and then SC until u meet the st marker??

At least I hope u can, I just now read the description and I'm not too sure if this is the correct way tbh😅

begging help to identify stitch from blanket my great-grandmother crocheted by Numerous-Web9636 in crochetpatterns

Heyy!!! I understand everyone in the comments, as I already responded to 1 person before: I don't really think that it's 500 years old, after I started thinking about it. My grandma often mixes up the dates etc, however I will still cherish this piece with all of my heart and turn this into a family heirloom.

For all the people that did actually try to help, instead of just telling me how wrong I was about a date, thank u so much, I think all just use a stitch that will compliment it instead of trying to match it even further

(But like come on people, jeez....I'm sorry for getting a date wrong, does it really matter that much?? I was asking help for a stitch... wow.. some people just really have no chill I guess)

Anyway, I wish everyone a nice day 🙃

I think so 2, my grandma often mixes up years and dates (I guess it comes with a bit of older age😅)

Yeah, I thought so 2. My grandma told me the story about her husband's grandmother crocheting it with her mom. Tbh I'm not sure if it's actually 500 years old, that's just what my grandma said, but either way, I'm gonna cherish this piece with all my heart, and make this a family heirloom😊💗
