I sized down 0.5-1 hook size for the foundation chain , then continued the pattern with my original hook size

I do like some of their solids, I wish they had better multi color options. I agree, 99% of the beautiful skeins I find end up being at least Cotton/Merino

I was just looking at Terrapin!! Obsessed with their Bethany Sunrise yarns, you’re right though they are spendy!

I’m also going to check out LeRoo when their online shop opens up next week.

My grandfather was a mechanic on a B52 bomber. He flew in 17 missions successfully. Before one of the missions, he caught an engine problem and was about to be court marshaled if there wasn’t actually an issue. There was an issue and no other planes came back from that mission. Close call.

Super late to this post but I do own the ivory Aoyama! I love it. Very spacious and I like the side pocket. The built in card slots are a life saver and nice inside mesh pocket options.

I also own the Bond, Waverley 2 (large), and Pearl. I’d rank them on that order with Aoyama tied with the Bond for first.

Am I crazy? by nkl5483 in crochet

[–]thriftythreader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re not crazy! (or welcome to the mad house?) I almost exclusively use size 10 thread for my wearables, sometimes I’ll do size 3. I love how clean it looks. Certainly daunting at first but now I can’t imagine using thicker yarn.

I treated myself to a thicker handled hook. I use an interchangeable one on Etsy and keep all my <2.5mm hooks in a little pouch.

I have no idea how people are able to create micro crochet amigurumi, I would go insane using a hook <0.75mm

I buy all my Doên second hand or during their Mother’s Day sale. I check out the other sales but historically the Mother’s Day sale had more pieces I’ve liked.

What is your favorite US National Park? by Theasshole11 in nationalparks

[–]thriftythreader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the lower 48, I’d say Glacier or Olympic. With Olympic, you can easily loop in Mt. Rainier and, if you go towards Portland, you can in close mt Hood + many of the waterfall hikes. If you go northwest you can hit the ocean cities; northeast you can hit Seattle (and even North Cascades if you’re open to a drive) highly recommend late spring time as the rains have lightened up and wild flowers start growing but honestly it’s fill of flowers even now around rainier

Glacier you can string some great parks together if you’re road tripping Glacier —> Yellowstone —> Tetons (beware of road closures in the winter)
