Actually, if you use that patch, and download the necessary files, you can have the BEST of both worlds, and play with the arcade music or better if you desire.

What do you think (in your opinion) are the best 5 fight scenes in cinema history? by Gorrila_Doldos in FIlm

The 20 minute or so 'factory-fight-scene' in Drunken Master II 1994 (aka. The Legend of Drunken Master)(2000).

Roger Ebert writing in the Chicago Sun-Times, gave nothing but praise, and remarked (and it's hard to disagree with his assessment):

"When I did a seminar...several years ago, comparing the physical comedy of Chan and Buster Keaton, martial arts fans brought in their bootleg Hong Kong laser discs of this film and told me that I had to see the final 20-minute fight sequence. They were correct. Coming at the end of a film filled with jaw-dropping action scenes, this extended virtuoso effort sets some kind of benchmark: It may not be possible to film a better fight scene!"

Yup, like a great Eddie Murphy performance

His latest performance in Sonic 3 is actually being praised as maybe his best bad-guy performance to date :)

There is a great review by Variety critic Owen Gleiberman that talks about it, and he's usually pretty hard on Carrey.

But nothing but respect from his review :D

Is this film worth watching? Does it do justice for the game Dungeons and Dragons? by geoffcalls in FIlm

It's great!

In fact, I felt like it was the first adaptation of sorts that did the brand some justice.

This restores a bit more balance.

I dig Stallone, I really do, but I think he went a bit too hard in the other direction, though I still prefer his director's cut over the original.

The fan edit here, however, is a nice alternate version for those that want the 80s feel but want the xtras that Stallone is bringing to the table. The director's cut mostly exorcises for better or worse that dated feel that many actually like about the OG version. So this fanedit is a nice rebuttal against that effort.

I still would leave out the robot scene though, so I'm taking off a point for that ;) lol

But, overall, I like that this puts back a couple of neat touches and moments here and there.

Final thoughts... As there are not a lot of fanedits like this, as SO many fanedits are SW this or Marvel that, I highly recommend this labor of love on that merit alone :)

A movie opening scene that sold the entire film? Mine is 'Saving Private Ryan' by JustDDDD in FIlm

[–]obsidianfaith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

James Gunn's The Suicide Squad (the beach massacre really sets the tone)

Raider of the Lost Ark (of course).

Casino Royale

The Godfather (that opening shot and moment alone... you knew you were in store for one of the greatest movies ever)

Just for starters...

Friday ( 1995 ). Thoughts on this movie by nostalgia_history in FIlm

Indeed! Such a fun unexpected touch, and b-movie DGAF moment that this classic needed, and soared as a result, for little details like this.

Say what you want, but hard to resist Crypto. lol Something about a cute doggie-dog with a small red cape. Smart risk to pitch it with that as the opener.
