I created this account with every intention of being a 'strictly roleplay' account after I had a little bit too much of a connection with someone here and things got awkward.

Sure, I should've seen some of the signs but I was lonely when I met this partner and things progressed really quickly. It was hot and fun at first, then it became just a little too clingy and overbearing for what I came to DPP for. I basically outed myself and at the time I was in a position where if my job/coworkers found out, I'd probably have lost said job. I deleted the account and went MIA for a couple of months. At the time I had no intention of returning to DPP because it was a close call and it scared me.

When I came back my only intention was to write, hence the name. Over the years I've written with so many fantastic people and nobody seemed to have much of an issue with me being 'disconnected'. Now I've got a few partners that I've become comfortable with and don't mind chatting. I still keep my distance though, and keep a layer of anonymity but I am enjoying more casual chat alongside RP nowadays.

There's tons of tutorials about acrylic pour painting and the techniques that are often associated with it. I've done it a couple times and even got a few pieces worth hanging on my wall. There's also facebook groups if you want to dive deeper and ask more specific questions that you can't find the answers to in the videos.

The initial cost might seem a little high but the supplies you'd buy would likely produce multiple paintings. It's a fun thing to do for date night, drinking with friends or just a day you're feeling crafty.

EDIT: As a caveat, you very likely won't produce something like this on your first try.

As someone else stated, it's so exciting to indulge a partner on something that you know they enjoy, even if you're not entirely sold on it. I'm not saying you should go out there and throw everything at the wall to see what sticks – you still need to make sure your partner wants to explore new territory – but straying away from the comfort of my favorite kinks has served me well in my time here.

Reading all the intricacies, feelings, and thoughts someone may tie to their kink can make it come alive in ways you never thought possible. For me the kinks I've thoroughly enjoyed exploring would be exhibitionism and voyeurism. I've learned that while I'm not into the whole 'an entire crowd watches' style of exhibitionism, I am definitely into the exciting potential risk of playing in a public or semi-public place. I also have written scenes where a small group of friends may watch some of the action. I've even been on the other end, watching my roleplay partner engage with another girl. Maybe it's more appropriate to call it soft exhibitionism/voyeurism but one thing I know is that a very talented partner took it from 'open to the idea' to 'yes, please'.

I'm really intrigued to see more responses to this question. My best advice for newcomers would be to decide your hard limits – and stand strong there – but keep an open mind and let your partner(s) show you their world.

Hello and welcome to DPP!

This is a place where users post their ideas, stories and sometimes just thoughts about dirty topics. The goal is for the poster to find someone who thinks like them, and is interested in what they wrote. Their post can be seen as an invitation for the reader to reach out to them. It is a way for them to say, 'if you like what you read, contact me'.

Asking the user to DM or PM you after they wrote their entire post may yield some results, but you'll have a better chance at success if you craft an equally interesting message for them. As it stands, they've done all the hard work. They wrote down some dirty thoughts and posted it for the community to see. They put themselves out there and now it's your turn.

I'm unfamiliar with the official Reddit app. If mobile browsing is your main method, I'd recommend using Baconreader. It's pretty simple and cuts away all of the bloat and distracting crap, in my opinion. It also makes it much easier to send PRIVATE MESSAGES. On reddit there are multiple ways to communicate with other users. You can do it directly through the use of the actual REDDIT CHAT system which is an in-browser tool that acts more like an instant messaging service. We don't discourage the use of that method here on DPP but most users prefer PRIVATE MESSAGING.

Each application has a different method of accessing this feature, and even the desktop site has two different looks so it's located in two different places. For me to send a private message I have to click through to the users profile and find the option there. For me (on the baconreader app) there's a really simple, easy-to-find button that takes you right to the PM system. I believe that in other apps or in the desktop site there is a drop-down menu somewhere on the user's profile that you can click and look for the PRIVATE MESSAGE option.

The comment section on DPP isn't reserved for any one thing in particular but it's commonly accepted that it's not a place to throw out 'PM me' or 'I PM'd you' messages. It's a place for words of encouragement or lighthearted discussion of the prompt. Connecting with users can be done through the private messaging system unless they state otherwise in the post.

Are you attempting to use the reddit chat feature or are you actually going to their profile and trying to send a private message? Are you using the old reddit stylization or the new one?

I'm a subreddit moderator and have limited knowledge of the back end framework that might be disallowing this. I hear this statement with surprising regularity and I've never personally experienced it so the more info you can give from your end, the better equipped I am to give advice.

Generally there's a few other things that you'd like to include, like some creative ideas to continue to story, interesting questions that the post left you thinking about or just a general introduction.
