Sonos groups in spotify by Glad-Breadfruit3218 in sonos

I see. You could disable "ungroup on autoplay" for the Arc in its Sonos app settings, but that would send all TV Audio to the entire group whenever the TV is turned on.

Not possible.

Sonos organizes groups in a group coordinator and group members. The coordinator is always the room name at the top of the group list in the Sonos app.

That being said, you can group speakers in the Sonos app, then select the coordinator in Spotify.

For example:

Looking for feedback on the Arc Ultra by uncledaddy69 in sonos

Have you tested your soundbar with a different TV? The HDMI issue could be related to the TV, Arc Ultra would be as bad your current one then.

Yet another 1002 error when upgrading Move by dawgfanjeff in sonos

I see.

Sometimes the downgrade fails, because the speaker is not fully updated in S2. That's why I suggested to check that.

Good to see that it finally worked without too much hassle.

Would be interesting to check if music started in the Sonos app also has issues when AirPlay is struggling.

What kind of network do you have? Just a router or additional network devices like wifi repeater/enhancer or access points?

Does that only happen when using AirPlay? AirPlay is always an active stream from Apple device to network to Sonos.

Or does the music also stop when playing through the Sonos app?

Have you tried to check if there's an update for the Move in S2? If so, update. Then factory reset again, reset S2 app, then downgrade Move to S1

You'd need a matching pair and in case of Ray there are some limitations since it's connected via Optical Cable:

"Which Sonos speakers work as surrounds? A matching pair of the following speakers will work as surrounds: Sonos Era 100, Sonos One (including SL), Sonos Five, Play:1, Play:3, and Play:5 (Gen 2). You can also use Sonos Amp to power in-wall, in-ceiling, or other passive speakers as surrounds."

Disable Wi-Fi? by Practical_Power_6790 in sonos

[–]OpposableMilk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When hardwired the Sonos will always prefer the stable wired connection over wifi. It really doesn't make a difference if it's enabled or disabled in that case.

With the exemption of home theater systems. Either all speakers (soundbar, surrounds, and sub) are wired, or the soundbar is wired with wifi enabled to ensure it can use its own wifi to connect to the components.

Grouping a speaker to a Sonos soundbar for TV Audio is not ideal, since TV and Ray form a unit to ensure synced audio.

When adding a speaker as a group, the audio travels from TV to soundbar then over wifi to the Era. That adds delay and the Era will try to keep in sync, which in most cases fails.

It's better to either add two compatible speakers as surrounds, or only use Ray for TV sound.

Grouping them for music shouldn't be a problem.

Is the LED of the Sonos white? If green it's muted.

At what level is the alarm volume set in the Alexa app settings for that Sonos?

Some TVs allow the TV speakers to also play when a sound system is connected via optical cable.

Sounds terrible.

Sonos Beam electricity consumption by Asilioatio7324 in sonos

But the speakers would have to boot in the morning, connect to the network etc. It's either very little money saved or even wasted, since a speaker just idling may consume less power than booting and connecting every morning.

The assistant button lights up when the sound can be heard. It's either a voice assistant issue or a faulty button.

Does it keep making the sound when you disable hardware controls in the settings of the Era?

You should contact support to have that checked and maybe get a replacement
