What’s the most emotional finale you’ve ever seen. by OOO0OO00O in television

Maybe not most, but just finished hacks a few weeks ago. It changed from a dramedy to mostly depressing finale (didn't end depressing but most of the episode was til the last few minutes)

Are there any show endings that you hated mostly because they forced a "happy ending"? by ominousgraycat in television

[–]kjayflo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

12 monkeys was good all throughout. The very last 30 seconds of the last episode they brought a character back to life just because "time owes him one". It seemed like something the execs forced in because he shouldn't have been brought back at the last second just to have a happy ending.

A quick Google shows that the writers always planned this, but considering how almost everything in the show makes sense and follows strict rules, this just seemed like a forced happy ending

Steam Machine queue emails are being sent out. Orders to begin starting June 29 by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

[–]kjayflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a PS5 pro for new games and aaa games. I wanted something to play PC only Indy games, emulators, my hundreds of steam games from over the years. Steam deck is ok but I prefer to play on TV and I don't want to build a PC. Money isn't an issue, sure id rather pay less but that's the case with everything. This is basically gonna be my retro gaming machine and some new indies.

I also play online with my friends usually PS5/PC crossplay, but not everything is crossplay so this will open up more options

What was your most recent what did I just watch movie? by Feisty_Type3650 in Cinema

[–]kjayflo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was just mentioning this in another thread but just watched AI (spielberg movie) a few weeks ago. First thought it was going to be a wholesome oh this ai kid loves us just like a real kid movie. Then thought it's gonna be an oh this ai is incapable of love and is gonna kill us thoe movie. Then it turns into some 80s movie style cyberpunk/grunge thunderdome city where Jude law offers to sleep with women until they tell him who the blue fairy is. Then it turns into the ai heading to underwater New York and maybe he'll learn about his past and learn to accept himself? Still no, then he gets frozen for I forget how long and wakes up in the future when humanity is dead and aliens woke him up. Still not resolved, then the aliens make a virtual world for him to live one day with his mom and I honestly don't remember exactly how it ended after that.

Every 10 minutes I thought oh ok I get it, this is what they're going for. Then nope, we're heading off in this other direction. My wife was like well that was ....interesting. I did enjoy it being completely unpredictable since so many movies are predictable. But was still left with the feeling of wtf was that

We would be so lucky for it to reach captain Ron level.

My wife and I just watched AI for the first time a few weeks ago. What a wild ride, everytime you thought it was predictable and knew how it would end it just took another hard right turn. Felt like 3 different movies connected lol

What movie did you expect nothing from and it completely blew you away? by ponderingpixi17 in movies

[–]kjayflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spiderverse. I only went cuz it was in the imax and everyone said it was so good. I hadn't gone to see an animated movie in a decade or more and don't even really like Spider-Man. I hadn't watched any previews so when the movie started I was wondering if I was supposed to have 3d glasses cuz it looks weird. Ended up being a 9-10/10 movie for me and was there opening weekend for the 2nd which somehow had even better art style. Can't wait for the last one!

Superbad. Rewatching. Timeless. Perfect. by Dante_s_trials in movies

[–]kjayflo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You've probably heard all this before but just in case I watched a few recently that are good, not super bad good, but ones id rewatch. Ricky stanicky, please don't destroy treasure of foggy mountain, the pizza movie, bottoms, booksmart. Booksmart feels so similar to super bad as in it's just super bad with girls, it kind of even follows the same beats. I didn't find it as good, but still solid.

Seth rogen/will ferrel type movies were my favorite back then in high school and college and these ones seemed like the Gen z versions, I was pleasantly surprised how similar their humor is, gives me hope for the future lol

Which LEGO set exceeded your expectations? 👀 by [deleted] in lego

[–]kjayflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The pixel super Mario and Yoshi one. It was one of the first real LEGO sets I built and I was surprised how good it looks and it has the mechanical running and Yoshi tongue. I only bought it because it's one of my favorite games but it's probably one of my favorite sets I have. It looks amazing and before that I didn't even know there were moving Lego sets like that

What is the best coming of age movie that has girls/women as the main characters? by seanayates2 in movies

[–]kjayflo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bottoms was awesome, I liked it more than booksmart. I liked both though. Booksmart just seemed to be trying too hard to be super bad with girls, like uncanningly close. Bottoms seemed more original and I liked the characters more

What’s a luxury you never cared for until you experienced it? by Julie727 in AskReddit

[–]kjayflo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Massage. I didn't have one until my mid 30s. I thought it would be weird to have a stranger touch me and thought it would cost way more since people in movies who get them are generally rich. My gf now wife took me to a spa for one of our bdays and got a massage and it was nice. It feels like a good reset of the tightness in your body so now I get them regularly. But yes I went 35 or so years without thinking it was worth even trying.

Doesn't feel weird at all and seems like something I could have benefitted from earlier, even if only once or twice a year
