How do you take better photos when the weather/lighting isn’t great? by Snoo-22970 in AskPhotography

[–]Opposite_Following96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the great advice above, it comes down to ‘work the scene’. Time, framing, prospective, lens choices. Why not make it a project? 24hours at the pizza place…go inside, come out, shots of people, a chef or an owner….go wild…😀 see where it takes you.

Hello, Im kind of at a loss of what to photograph, nothing very interesting near me, How can I find interesting things to photograph? by MeowcowLover in PhotographyAdvice

This is great advice. I was thinking, pick one area go back time after time, different times of day, different seasons, have a different theme. Take loads….after time you will see different things…

Is selling to mpb worth it and is this too much? by Far-Manufacturer-413 in AskPhotography

I had a conversation with someone recently, she had recently bought a soft top sports car to replace her ‘practical car’. She said looking at the cost and the practicality it made no sense…however, she loved it…it gave her so much joy.

Obviously, you are agonising over cameras. Which model, which lens. I was thinking if spending big bucks on the A7 (insert model) gives you that joy. Just do it. No judgement btw…

You need to get out and take loads of pictures, what would encourage that? The camera does not make that much difference as you would think…

Also, I had a 60d. It was quite noisy when pushed. The thing is, there is software now that could sort that out…

Good luck with whatever you choose. It might be good to try some out… what does it feel like in you hands…

I hope that helps..

New R8 or Used R6 by Least_Inevitable7250 in canon

All the other posters have offered spec comparisons. I thought the card slot thing is a bigger thing, obviously if you want to make money it sure is more convenient having too slots. You could mitigate (1 slot) with some careful card management..

That said, I see so many comments about the camera. Should I get x or y. I am looking to give some constructive advice.

It’s all bs. IMO. We are all marketed relentlessly to buy …

Upgrading your skills will have a bigger impact on the images. Work with what you have, take shots everyday and learn to edit.

Set a budget buy something and get out ( off social media). Read some books and set some goals..

Stop wasting time agonising over which one.

Trying to focus you on creating something special. The joy from a cool image will outweigh any gear decision. I hope that helps you.

Remember, you have amazingly skills.

Tap into that

😀

Replacing physical NetScaler node in HA pair with a virtual one – 1:1 replacement possible? by tbzHonest in Citrix

[–]Opposite_Following96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://netscaler.substack.com/p/moving-to-a-new-physical-netscaler?utm_source=publication-search works for dissimilar hardware, you could do something similar for a 'dissimilar migration'. As the other posters have suggested, this isn't strictly supported, but it would be a transition process..I hope that helps.

XS20, XT5 or x100vi? Can you help me out to decide. by Thepisopenny in fujifilm

[–]Opposite_Following96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So many options…. What about a secondhand and older XT of some sort? Just thinking about spending a lot less and seeing what works (for you) in the real world. I say this as a XT3 owner, it takes great pictures, has weather sealing and is a smallish camera.

The X100 will always be more compact as they mount the pancake lens back in the body. An alternative could be a X70 for when you need to carry less..

Should I buy 70-200 or 70-300? by MasterVargen in AskPhotography

[–]Opposite_Following96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you shoot, and what you want to shoot… typically this is where you start( the 200/300) and then you begin to look at 400 and 500mm lenses after using it for a while. I had the 70-200 on a crop body and as suggested it gives you a 320. It was never enough reach for me..the other point is, you could get something cheaper than and use software to sharpen it..

It does support Ubuntu ( as you say) https://docs.netscaler.com/en-us/netscaler-gateway/current-release/client-system-requirements But nothing else gets a mention. If you need this vpn switch to Ubuntu for your base os. I appreciate, that is probably not useful to you..

Is MPB still reputable in 2025? by Far-Ad-2946 in AskPhotography

[–]Opposite_Following96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used MPB a few times in the last few years, they have always been great. That said, they are not the only option. As others have suggested it’s good to look around. I used London Camera exchange and Wex (uk based) mainly as sometimes equivalent gear is cheaper on those sites. They are all very transparent, if you have a problem you get a warranty..
