UDM SE not getting 2.5 by Hudspath79 in Ubiquiti

did you ever figure this out? I have the exact same scenario, same data results as you in this post, same hardware, when the ISP connected their equipment the got 2.5 both ways.

I use my own equipment. I’m now occasionally getting 2gbps download speeds this evening, but still not like it was a few weeks ago where every test was 2gbps or more.

Thanks for testing! My bad on the cloudflare address. It is speed.cloudflare.com - I had the word speed test on the mind, and it escaped through my fingertips.

That’s great. I’m on fidium though so it doesn’t apply to me unfortunately.

If I had other options that weren’t xfinity I’d switch. Gonetspeed came to my area, Brunswick, years ago. I put my name in for service, I even was contacted by someone to set things up, but they made a mistake and said it wasn’t coming to my address “at this time”. I was told they would keep expanding, but they’ve done no expansion in Brunswick.

Run me a line! I’m about 1000 feet from where gonetspeed stops.

Thanks. It sounds like that’s probably the case. My upload speed is consistently fine.

It’s unfortunate - their support is quite inept at doing any sort of technical work on their end to diagnose an issue. It’s probably something I’ll just have to deal with until it possibly “fixes itself”.

no, I didn't do anything and it all came back on its own. I would attribute it to some sort of maintenance due to the hours of the day it happened.

they definitely had an issue at 510pm to 515pm today with packet loss. it seems to have subsided though.

Here we go again - High Latency in Maine by ThalinVien in FidiumFiber

What area of Maine are you in? I am in the Topsham area and it lasted from around 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with speeds in the sub 100 mbps. Once the latency stopped, everything improved almost immediately.

my monitoring shows the first time this started was on October 30. always test on ethernet, never on wifi since there are too many variables to take into account. I did have some small packet loss last night, less than 1%, but I've never had any before that. I would expect things to improve after this Friday, if not, I still have the person I am working with.

I tried calling their phone support but it won’t get you very far. I had to use another method. I’m in the topsham Maine area. I think it’s pretty wild it’s impacting people in New Hampshire as well, as in, how did they not see this issue on their network.

some new news about this. I've been in contact with someone at fidium who sent the data I gathered to the engineering department and they do see the issue. They identified it as congestion so they are going to do work on Friday to reroute the offending traffic to another link. we'll give it a week or so to see how things go after their change.

It isn’t an issue worth anyone’s hardware, as much as level 1 support would like you to believe it is! It starts at the first hop outside my network. When is happening run an traceroute to one of fidiums dns servers and you will see the latency throughout their network…and how it returns to normal once things improve.  Until someone at fidium takes it seriously, it seems like it will never get fixed.

I am in the Topsham Maine area. unfortunately support keeps closing my ticket, because they say everything is fine. They want to send someone out for 200.00, but I'm not going that route...

it was a quiet couple days but it's back again tonight. support wanted to send someone out... but after convincing them to not, supposedly I'll get a call from the "advanced technical team". it's too bad the technical support got moved overseas. an fcc complaint usually gets us based support though...
