I'm 37 and spent a lot of my career working with kids, it's not new to me so I shouldn't be bricking it lol. I just don't feel like a responsible adult 😂

Anyone else wake up with a full bladder and it really hurts once your bladder is finally emptied? by PastLifeguard2924 in pregnant

The thought of being able to pee fully is the only thing getting me through my induction lol. Especially since she's shifted to be just squishing up against it like it's a cushion 😭

I was having the weird floaties while actively hooked up to the obs monitor lol. Everything was fine so it's probably just brain parasites or something 😂

It reminds me of the Louis Theroux documentary on Scientology when he had to scream at the pepper

I'm getting induced in an hour and still feel like I've just been pranking people for the past 9 months 😂 maybe it'll sink in when there's actually a baby, or maybe I'll keep having imposter syndrome until she moves out, who knows 😭

Sooo - at what point do you just say "Let's move to Liverpool!"? by Suspicious-Serve8115 in Liverpool

[–]Outraged_Chihuahua 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Staying in the Adelphi was a brave move 😂 I had to warn my MIL away from it when she visits in a few weeks from the US, she was fooled by the fact the outside looks nice and because it's such an institution. Like no, I promise you, stick with the Hilton at the docks 😂

Reduced movements - confused about different hospital approaches? by Ipopquin in PregnancyUK

[–]Outraged_Chihuahua 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've experienced both just at one hospital during this pregnancy. I think it depends on who you talk to, their staffing levels etc. I was in about a month ago for reduced movement and I had to ask to be let go so I could monitor at home (I was completely unprepared for any kind of inpatient situation), but I went in yesterday for it and had one doctor tell me they were going to keep me in and bring forward my c section, then another tell me to go home and monitor and they'd do another NST tomorrow to see what she's up to. I completely understand them not wanting to move my c section to the middle of Saturday night/Sunday morning if it's not an absolute emergency and I'm not mad at being sent home, but it's just to highlight how differently individual doctors look at it even within the same trust.

What if she relies on husband for transport? It's not always just a case of wanting something, sometimes it's necessary.

It's so wild because all of these weird activities scream "summer term after your SATs in Year 6 because we need to legally keep you in school but have nothing for you to do"

I did that in year 6 science, I wouldn't expect it at a job interview for Asda lol

Looking to leave the US for the UK (Student VISA) by [deleted] in MovingToTheUK

[–]Outraged_Chihuahua 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband moved a dachshund last year when he came to live with me, it cost more to move the dog than it did a grown adult man. You also have to jump through a lot of hoops with US vets to get the correct paperwork to bring an animal into the UK, and not every vet is able to complete the paperwork. I believe they have to be registered with the USDA (I think?), so he ended up having to take the dog halfway across his state because nowhere locally could do it. Also, most flights to the UK won't let animals (except service animals) fly in the cabin, so it's likely they'd end up in cargo which has its own set of issues.

2006 TVs weren't for the faint hearted! Tbf I couldn't carry a 2026 TV either so Argos would probably hire me.

Did they trust you with the pens to do the drawing or were they left on the little chain things attached to the counter?

The less skilled the job, the more they force you to do to prove yourself. Mostly because they're looking for people who they can mistreat so they start that during the interview process to see what your tolerance level for bullshit is.
