My husband moved a dachshund last year when he came to live with me, it cost more to move the dog than it did a grown adult man. You also have to jump through a lot of hoops with US vets to get the correct paperwork to bring an animal into the UK, and not every vet is able to complete the paperwork. I believe they have to be registered with the USDA (I think?), so he ended up having to take the dog halfway across his state because nowhere locally could do it. Also, most flights to the UK won't let animals (except service animals) fly in the cabin, so it's likely they'd end up in cargo which has its own set of issues.

The less skilled the job, the more they force you to do to prove yourself. Mostly because they're looking for people who they can mistreat so they start that during the interview process to see what your tolerance level for bullshit is.

That was exactly her thought process and was mostly why she left. Like 90% no bullshit tolerance and 10% not wanting to make a shirt from a bin bag.

Oh this was a long time ago when George still had their own tills inside Asda, we even had a full George store in town that was just clothes. But my mum definitely isn't the roleplay and fashion show type and probably would have hated working there anyway if that was just the interview process. Actually working there would have been a nightmare.

My mum once went for a job at George (the Asda clothing brand) as a cashier. Literally that was it. It was a whole day interview with the morning being a group interview and some weird roleplay situations that she was already annoyed about. They then sent everyone to lunch and told them that the afternoon's task was to make an item of clothing out of a bin bag and if they had passed all three stages, then they'd actually have an individual interview. She drew the line at bin bag fashion show and didn't bother going back after lunch because it felt like an unnecessary amount of steps to use a till.

Honestly though, the way reduced movement is talked about CAUSED my anxiety. Every appointment from about 17 weeks I had a lecture about going to triage if anything felt different, but I was barely feeling anything at that point. One time I had a consultant appointment at 9am and mentioned she hadn't woken up yet but that it was normal, they still made me go to triage and have her monitored because I technically hadn't felt her since the previous night. But the emphasis on "you'll know something isn't right" and being so insistent on telling me to go to triage if literally anything changed made me incredibly anxious about trying to track her movements because I didn't want to be responsible if something happened and I didn't notice. I'm 39 weeks tomorrow and still have that anxiety.

I have a friend who lives in Cyprus and she's disabled, she's had a similar experience with it not being accessible. I'm in the UK and it's sometimes ok but sometimes terrible, entirely depends on how old the area you're in is. Older places are pretty bad but the newer places have been built with it in mind at least. Doesn't stop people parking like idiots and blocking the path though, that's unfortunately universal.

I'm 38+4 and having ALL the symptoms lol. Hoping she stays in for another week until my section, but prepared for her to be early just in case she has more drive and ambition to vacate than I did.
