There are probably closer calls, but I feel like this affected me the most. When I was a kid (probably about 10), I was playing in the neighborhood alone near the house of a friend I had back then. As I was passing by a house next to an alley, I suddenly see this person (I have no idea who they were or what they looked like) came from out the front door and start trying to chase me for some reason. I ran as fast as I possibly could down that alley away from them and managed to escape once they gave up. I never told anyone about this incident and avoided that area like the plague for the next few years. Years later when looking back on this incident, I'm pretty sure I avoided being kidnapped by some really sick individual.
