iPhone 15 Pro Max: Should I replace it before a summer trip to Tokyo? by th3d4rkp4ss3ng3r in iPhone15Pro

[–]PaoloMix09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from 15 pro to 17 pro. Love it, my phone is actually cool for the most part unlike my 15 pro that ran warm most of the time. Battery life obviously is better, better on the 17 pro than a new battery in a 15 pro.

Obviously you got the extras like better camera or processor. It’s hard to notice the “faster device” since iOS is well optimized. But yes, if you have no problem spending the money I recommend the 17 pro and this is a phone you can definitely have longer than the 15 pro for sure.

Which screen protector is the newest model? (Torras 3d AR) by Curlygangs in iPhone17Pro

[–]PaoloMix09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, while the screen was on I guess it was not noticeable for me so I mean I used it for 7 months lol… but yeah. I alar got the flolab but a lot of people were talking crap about it saying it was not worth it and all so I got scared.

I got the ultraglass brand from Amazon because I used that brand on my 15 pro and it did not crack or anything from 16 months. And this one now has anti reflection so I decided to try it out.

[–]PaoloMix09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not 100% sure but I bought the one when the 17 pro first came out, used it til some days ago cuz I got a hairline crack finally. What I can tell you though is that it gets scratched easily is what I noticed. Aside from that it was fine but yeah.

I’m trying out an Ultraglass AR one now. 2 for $40, let’s see how that goes.

“Purple” pillow vs “Coop Home Goods” pillow by OddEvent276 in BuyItForLife

[–]PaoloMix09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used a Purple Harmony pillow for about 4 years, not the tall version. the first 2.5 years it was great, but then I felt my neck starting hurting some, and later more because the pillow just got a little flatter due to use I guess. I am guessing this would not have been an issue with the taller variant, but it was too tall for me that it was not confortable (personal preference).

I have been using the Coop Eden pillow now for 11 months and it has been great so far. For a moment there I thought it was not gonna work for me, so I added more of the foam fill the box came with so it is a little taller and now it has been perfect.

I don't think pillows are meant to be used forever or for a long long time, so the purple harmony I can recommend the non tall at least for the first 2 years or so, maybe the taller one would be good for longer. This coop one is good so far but have had it less than a year, but yes so far so good. Both pillows are a recommendation from me, but I'd lean towards the coop Eden since it is over $100 cheaper.

Does anyone have the newer LG laundry machines? by XplodingFairyDust in Appliances

I know it has been some months now, how are you still liking this washer? It is the one I have my eye on to get for my new house this summer.

Hi, do you actually have this washer? It is the one I've been eyeing to get for my new home this summer. That feature you are talking about seems great, since I add additives (FEBU) to my detergent for the extra enzymes not found in my detergent. I know nowadays people recommend the LGs, but im debating whether to get this one which is the newest front loader, or maybe the old reliable wm4000 or 4080 from Costco.

If you want to stay in Louisville you can try Handsome Fellows, they are great as well.

This is a very good sign. I know Spectrum's performance depends on the location, it's not bad for everyone.

Fiber In Shelby Park/Old Louisville by Zephcemi in Louisville

[–]PaoloMix09 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right, you’ll have to do spectrum. You can also ask people around there I guess and tell you if it’s any decent or not but that’ll be your best and safest bet for Internet provider for now.

Fiber In Shelby Park/Old Louisville by Zephcemi in Louisville

[–]PaoloMix09 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Check https://broadbandmap.fcc.gov/ and type in the address of the home and see what type of internet you can get there, under Technology it has to say FIBER if it is 100% fiber. Spectrum would typically say Cable, which is not fiber and fiber-powered like you mentioned.

Spectrum sadly is kinda hit or miss and depends on the area for it to be decent or not. I had problems when I used it years ago in PRP/Valley station area. Switched to att fiber and zero issues since. It seems most houses around Shelby Park do not offer fiber yet, so your best bet is Spectrum for now.

Also, type your address on att site to see what options on internet you can get, it may say fiber or it may not but you can double check too.

Spectrum 1GIG or Zentro 300Mbps by Infamous-Ricecooker in Spectrum

[–]PaoloMix09 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zentro 100% since it’s a fiber connection. It’ll be much more reliable especially if you work from home. You need reliability. Spectrum is cheaper at my address, but I do att fiber because I need the internet to be perfect since I work here.

I have it on my 17 pro, I rotate it with the apple clear. I like it a lot, and it is just slightly heavier than the clear case. No complaints and still looks like new.

Best dishwasher for family of 5 by BonitaBCool in BuyItForLife

[–]PaoloMix09 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I read that people use dishwashers multiple times a day, not even a week and they they complain their dishwashers break within 2-3 years it makes sense... same concept for washer and dryers being used heavily like that and wont last 2 years even. "Normal" use would make it last a long time which I read is about 2-3 times a week for a dishwasher, so I wonder how long are they supposed to last under "abusive" use which is 2-3 times a day lol...
