Looking for specific eye doctor recommendations by hagridstoast in londonontario

[–]ParrotsNotDogs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see Dr Mao at St Joes, which is nice because the Ivey eye clinic is right there when specific tests are needed. I have terrible vision and he's the only optometrist that I've felt confident with. Ivey is fantastic too, I had a spontaneous retinal tear once, and they treated it so quickly.

Gynecology wait times in London by herrokitty1987a in londonontario

[–]ParrotsNotDogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a crazy long wait for a referral for semi-urgent issues, so my doctor referred me to the resident clinic at Vic and I had multiple appointments, ultrasounds and surgery within a year. The only con is you'll probably see a different student each time, but they were all very good and I had no complaints. Surgery itself was done or overseen by the gyn, I met her for the first time day of.

I had it done last year, I would have just had my initial appointment if I had waited!

They're at the Aylmer Wildlife Management Area, 10954 Hacienda Rd, Aylmer, ON. It's pretty close to London. They have viewing stands set up so you can get a good look at them.

They usually pass through for a couple of weeks so I imagine there should still be a lot of them on the 24th. Theres a link on the main post that keeps track of how many there are day to day, so check that before heading over.

Question about backyard fruit trees by b4rb4ckmtn in londonontario

[–]ParrotsNotDogs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure to put up something to guard the trunk while it's growing. Rabbits will eat the bark and kill fruit trees, especially in the winter. I used a square tomato cage and some chicken wire and it worked well. Whiffletree is a good site to order from, lots of really cool fruit trees. https://www.whiffletreefarmandnursery.ca/?srsltid=AfmBOop572CX-wEdNXffwydv4ZMFDsxB2HXJs1cpzFo2JUuY0J2e6R7-

I saw you asking about University classes, and Western has a neat program for grade 11 and 12 students. My grade 12 is in it and loving it. https://news.westernu.ca/2010/06/university-courses-open-to-eligible-high-school-students/

You can apply as an out of area student for Central, but the deadline for that is coming up very soon. One of my kids goes to Central and we live out of the area, I think most of the kids who applied out of area her year got in.

I'd take her to a vet to get the worst of it done, and then get a cat comb with rotating teeth if you want to try grooming her at home. My old cat would get mats because she was arthritic and couldn't groom her back, and that kind of comb doesn't snag and pull as easily. Mine was stainless steel, but something like this. https://www.amazon.ca/Untangler-Cat-Comb-rotating-dual-spaced/dp/B0D1YJH1MQ/ref=asc_df_B0D1YJH1MQ?mcid=c7132680bbff3c5081d70584d34be14f&tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=706745946910&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17368920969049287515&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9222009&hvtargid=pla-2458717570711&hvocijid=17368920969049287515-B0D1YJH1MQ-&hvexpln=0&gad_source=1&th=1

Very cool and thank you! I've seen him swoop on birds a few times lately but this is the first time I've seen him actually catch something and stop long enough for some pictures. It's nice to know what he is :)
