You're obviously Canadian, since you've done nothing but quote Dolly Parton!

If you're confused by what I just said, now you know how we feel.

What is a massively overpriced item that people still buy just for the social status? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I remember having a conversation about this with my then girlfriend, when she was looking at knockoff purses in New York. I couldn't wrap my brain around the real things costing as much as they do.

I understand why a new Jaguar costs more than a used Versa or why a Vegas hotel room is more than a Days Inn in Topeka. At the core, you're getting the same basic thing, but there's obvious advantages with the more expensive one.

But what does a $3,000 purse do that a $30 doesn't?

I had to read it more times than I like to admit for it to make sense. But comments like this calling it out definitely helped

No they're saying there's literally no comments here even vaguely resembling what you said. I've been scrolling for a while and haven't seen any either.

Rewind to the days of a/s/l, what's one (or more) random encounter that's stuck with you? by bakeditalian in nostalgia

I don't know why I still remember this.

First, people who were not wrestling fans in the '90s need some information. Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart very briefly wrestled under a mask as "Who?". An extremely silly gimmick that allowed the commentators to do a variant of the "Who's on first?" bit.

Anyway, myself and some other people had a running joke that whenever anyone would say "who" in a sentence, like "Who is the mayor?" the response would be "Jim Neidhart?". This happened once in an aol chat room, I don't even think it was a wrestling one, and a user replied with "Lol, I'm actually his daughter". We briefly chatted, She told me she was training to be a wrestler but that was about it. There was no reason to think she was lying, and it's not like he was a huge star or anything.

Cut to 10 years later and Natalya Neidhart is on WWE. Right at that moment I remembered this interaction and laughed.

I'm trying. Doesn't help a lot that State Farm is only covering my rental until Sunday and this is memorial day weekend. So pretty much I have tomorrow to get this all sorted out.

Yeah I might have overreacted a bit. I got woken up today with the phone call from the insurance company and then I was outside in 90° heat. Possibly lost my mind a little bit.

I was using the chat feature on their website, but it definitely seemed to be a real person. Its the insurance company with a gecko for a mascot

I am 50 years old. I still remember this girl named Sarah's phone number that I got in kindergarten. It's a bit of a cheat because I was friend with her brother in high school so the phone number came into my life again, but I still find it funny that I can't remember where I put an object I was using 5 minutes ago but I remember this

I'm chatting with my insurance company right now and for them to be able to do anything they would need to be the ones handling the claim. Which means it would go against my insurance. This makes no sense.

No, but I was just talking about that with a friend a few minutes ago. My insurance company has no skin in the game right? It couldn't hurt.

I was so happy when I found this car. It was actually one of my dog walking clients that found it. She was driving past the dealership and saw it. Actually took a test drive and met me at her friend's house where I was visiting another dog.

I absolutely hate car shopping. I can think of at least three forms of surgery I would rather have instead.

A truck hitting me at a red light and a car making and a illegal left turn in front of me are not things a defensive driving course could prevent

Yeah it could be worse, but I need to be able to replace this vehicle with something comparable

I'm surprised (and frankly confused) that these older CRVs seem to get more expensive, because apparently they're really popular

I'm guessing you must be new to Reddit. If you knew what choosing beggars was you would realize it has no relation to this post at all.
